Choices.
Meghna Dec 2014
Make your choices
Make them well
Make them firm
And do not dwell

The crevice beckons
Gaping wide
The patience and moral
Of time and tide

Subtle hints to change your mind
Breaking passion in its prime
Gentle nudges, slight whispers
Slow steps, slyness sublime

Pave the way, set in stone
Bleeding thorns, satisfying rose
Brighten path, shining through
Awaken from your long repose

So walk the plank
They’ll tell you all
For the blinding light
At the end of it all

I see him there
But he doesn’t talk
He finds me staring
And turns around to walk

Is this what we’ve been reduced to?
Ignorant bliss - solely for you

Shackled to our bonds
And surrounded by brambles
Like sand castles by the sea
Strong foundations crumble

My hand shakes, my pen breaks
But I am not suppressed
Tearing grass and filling pages
With a force I never knew I possessed

Feeling unwanted, ignored and lost
I sink down with the approaching dusk
Losing myself in the thick mist
My identity becomes a mask

My lips start to quiver
Because you’re right there
But you’re looking right through me
I realize, with a shiver

Nothing remains, all is lost
My efforts are in vain
Pain and twangs of sadness are all I have
When you are washed away in the rain

Sincerely.
Meghna Dec 2014
I think I’ve had enough
Enough of your lies
Your half-baked promises
Pronounced with emotions and deep sighs

Moving on seems less painful
Than watching you dance
Flying with that other girl
On cloud nine, again and once

Here’s a promise from me
An unbreakable vow
I’m blinking you into oblivion
You’re dust to me now

I’m losing all hope for us
I’m stabbing my love for you
And because I’m a polite lady -
Sincerely baby, *******.

Heroes.
Meghna Jan 2015
Your superhero wears a cape.
Mine talks to a camera.
Meghna Dec 2014
You’re lost
Not a speck of your dust remains
You were not a mistake
You were not in vain

Their last words that of falling down
Sinking in, giving up
Broken smiles grace their features
Glazed looks take over

But for our hearts
And the marks they left
For love rewards love
And ignorance, hate
For the fallen Winchesters.

Silence.
Meghna Dec 2014
Silence hangs in the air
Locked eyes, comforting stares

Slow steps, resonating laughs
Hidden smiles, acting tough

Graceful twirls, heeled spins
Loving waltz, pretty sins

Faces inch close, on her tiptoes
A sprinkle of glitter, under the mistletoe

But time, oh so cruel, takes its toll
Spirits diverge, its ultimate goal

Away they go
One heaven, one hell

Never to meet again
But feelings still dwell

Blinking stars, fading out
Darkness swallows, leaves no doubt

Falling then, in his arms
Safety, warmth, home and hearth

Falling now, no strings attached
Endless crevice, humourless mirth

Silence prevails once again
Awkward, to say the least

Slow.
Meghna Dec 2014
We’re moving too fast
Running through a storm
Of desire and lust

Look upon us now
Breaking the rules, and how

Flashbacks galore echo in my mind
A blast of pretty colours
But only in the Polaroid

Everyone’s telling us to slow down
To back off
Give it a rest, pick it up some other time

But who are they to tell us what to do?
Who are they to tell us how to live?

I’m taking the risk, diving in headfirst
Confident and in love we are
Shun the rest of the world
Shut them out

Hit the brakes too early
And now we’re crashing
We’re falling down
Sprawling out in the snow

We broke the rules
But it was worth it
Worth it every time
We’ve got a lifetime of memories to show

The holidays.
Meghna Dec 2014
It isn't particularly the loneliness.
It isn't particularly my great family.
It isn't particularly feeling more unattached than ever.

It's the silence.
It's the extra time with myself.
It's getting to know my dark side.

It's everything.
It's the cosmos.
Simple reminder : The holidays are't a great time for everyone.

Without.
Meghna Dec 2014
Another mile
Another day
Another hour

Without your smile
Without your face
Without your heart

Gone.
Meghna Dec 2014
He said, “forever”. He said he’ll keep her safe.
But what are they, but mere promises blown away with the wind?*

Forever, he said
Promises, he made
Gone with the setting sun
Farewell, he bade

Down in flames
Up in smoke
Rings and letters
Oaths they took

Nostalgia that hurts
Flashbacks that pain
Memories that fade
Nothing left to gain

Broken and battered
Shamed and weak
Every nook and cranny
Her pieces she seeks.

— The End —
