punch-drunk
Halfway up the glass does the water reach not so low,
but protruding from the vase of life, flowers do not grow.
Withered petals and sagging stems replace the living air,
colours fade, death must obey, not alive to even care.
But if i drop into the vase a magic thought from me,
I can dream and think and see, the beauty that used to be.
I wrote this one whilst admiring a dead flower in a vase.

Apathy
Blessed be the inventor of such a mental prison
I'll dwell in that cell as long as I can
I promised you I'd be there by your side
Until hope had fully withered
But I renounce such a childish oath
It just so seems that I don't have the same luxury
Of caring for no one
But myself

That Kind Of Girl

She was the kind of girl
Worth dancing with
In the middle of the living room
To the music
Of late night television.

She was the kind of girl
Who made the sky dizzy
Whenever it looked down at her
Because she was
More vast than the sea.

She was the kind of girl
You wanted to kiss
In each and every snow drift
Because her lips
Were warmer than any jacket.

She was the kind of girl
Who held you at night
     And whose arms lingered
Because when she was gone
You still felt her around you.

She was the kind of girl
People drag themselves
From their beds and walk to work
Because they needed to care
For a necessity like her.

She was the kind of girl
Who made you trip over
Words you wished were nearly as lovely as her,
Because she was the embodiment
Of all you ever wanted to say

To swoon the stars and put the moon in your back pocket.

There are too many days between us,
all filled with absence;
of words
of you
time incessantly steals moments
my heart may beat today but not tomorrow
and now you are not here
to hear how beautiful your name sounds like
uttered out of the purest love my heart can bleed.

Few muscles expand
In an upward curve doesn't
Make a smile dear

Muscles should expand
right. But the radiance that
pervades the heart ayes

I talk to her, and her
She talks back, it echoes
I squeeze her, and her
She burrows into my chest, splitting it

I laugh with her, and her
She smiles back with too many teeth
I can’t love her... and her, and me
We cry tears, we should have never let be.

It burns so magnetically, beckoning them in
the warmth is alluring and felt on their wings
they flutter and dance to the heat and light

embracing a malevolent illumination in the blackest of night
knowingly I wait, whilst feeling a premature pain
watching the last dance of moths to the flame

Rip open my insides and devour my flesh. I'm a caged spirit begging to heal. ******* venom and eternity will be yours. Sin can be so devilishly juicy. Play my strings like a violin. I'll return the favor as I strum your guitar. Let us levitate for a while. Euphoria is right around the corner.
