A day with friends —
yet you’re all alone
but you can’t help be so entertained
by the engaging dialogue
that’s so insane
you must write these words
upon the page
you must write, and write!
you can’t explain
it’s like an itch
that you must scratch
an annoying tick
or, a nat
You know there are others
(that it’s not just you)
writers with friends…
inside their rooms.

I'm moving on where I belong
let me be the River that I am/you know I'm strong
I'm flowing over rocks/over stones/through clear blue River streams
over mountains/flying /I'm an Eagle/let me have my dreams..
please just leave me alone

n' I have my dreams/I like my time
to create/inspire/be divine/dance n' love/smile all day long/all around
You know I move at the speed of sound...
I'm moving on where I belong
I am a River/you know I am strong/I am water over stones
water over hills/I am water flowing through
fluid ocean streams/moving on where I belong...
I am an Eagle/flying above in blue suede sky's
let me fly...

as above/so below
I am strong..
let me flow/ like a River
I'm moving on ...
to the place where I belong.

It wasn't just that she'd given her heart
tried one more time all over again
"this one's for love...this could be a new start"
that's what she said...
He'd found a passionate girl that loved knowledge
the smell ink on paper - the love of old books
His Peter Pan to her Captain Hook
Once the pattern had started all over again..
"It was that one time - I know that he's kind,"
this too will pass - this too will end...
She had been trading herself in for cheap beer
far too long  -- she had been telling herself
"Love feels like shame...."
"I need more of the same..."
When she realized the lies ...
tears pooled in her eyes
What a skewed point of view...
that everything she knew
felt lifeless and shattered
because someone had said,
"You really don't matter...
you're not worth my time...
I named you.. "Nickel"
because you're not worth a dime."

(Explicit) In My Dreams
TigerEyes Nov 2014
In my dreams I'm trying to remember who's chasing me
I remember now it's Miss TNT holding a grenade
She's about to blow
n'  I don't know
when..
I'm kicking my feet ...
My Nikes are moving so fast down the street
I glance back over my shoulders briefly n' then face the street again
n' the street has turned into a track field in front of me
I can hear Miss TNT's cleats pounding n' I turn and, then I see
A monster with big scary claws
n' her teeth are sharp and, pointing out of her scary jaw
and, she's out for blood because I've ****** her off in the past
n' the hatred in her eyes feels like it's going to last n' last...
I'm wishing that she'd just get a life n' leave me alone...
I yell out, "******* ***** go chew on a bone!"
Her scary jaw opens up n' there's blood in her mouth
I realize now it's all gone South
cause she's crunching down on me now with glee in her eyes
so happy that she's eaten the person that she so despised.

One World Order
TigerEyes Jun 2015
Join in everyone
it's a new day for a rising sun
Utopia is here -- and there's nothing more to fear
we've wanted this for so long/for this to finally come
the last war is finally over/yes, it's finally done
the One World Order has begun
So look into your neighbors eyes
and, perhaps offer them a tender smile
(Chorus/Children's Voices)
la, la, la - la, la, la, la --- la, la, la -- la, la, la
We are finally One
the wars are finally over
Yes, they're finally done
sing in unity/sing to this song
we're all One/the wars are finally over
yes, they're finally done
Sing in unity to this song
we're all One race, and everyone belongs---
la, la, la - la, la, la -- la, la, la--la, la, la
All the horses have left the sky
there's no more reason for you to weep or, cry
Utopia is here, and there's nothing more to fear
Love your brother, love your son, love your daughter....
love your neighbor,
love everyone.

Over The Mountain
TigerEyes Aug 2015
She flew over the mountain to the other side
to meet a wizard that was wise
wanting to look into his eyes
where there were magic flowers everywhere
of golden colors in pinks, and blues
he taught her everything that he knew
that's' when she found out he was true
no harm, or foul play would come to her
there was magic floating everywhere
that's when the wizard showed he cared

her soul to keep from all that's bad ...
he waved his wand up in the air
and, he gave her everything that he had.

Between Ourselves
TigerEyes Jul 2015
Between ourselves
between the shelves
our photographs tell our story
of a past that held so much glory
now we've both moved on
from a past that still haunts
haunts me with photographs
between the shelves
between ourselves
our story that finally ended
ended long ago in the past
our love that didn't last.

I’ve got myself a dreamer
he wants to take me far away---
from here---
the midnight heat on shabby streets
the Sunset strip/the guys I meet
He wants to take me far away /from here---
He says/My Dear--
Let’s fly away from here ---
today----
I wasn’t always this way
that’s what I always say--
today--
my dreams of fame, and, fortune
flown --- away--
life on the streets
it has no pulse/there is no heart
it has no beat
It's worn me down n' I've been so cold
while on my feet
yeah, while on the street
If you stare into my eyes,
you might see a reflection of all the darkness/all the lies
I've been told--
since I was just a young girl
of just nine years old--

you might see tears welling up in my blue eyes
you might see a person living in disgrace...
I've been alone...
n' I'm too young to have a face like stone
Darkness has settled in..
blood mixed with wine...
casting shadows/casting sins

I’ve been on my own
since I was nine
and I had to learn to make a dime
Because I learned early on---
that life was not always
warm or,  kind--

One Heart Song
TigerEyes Nov 2015
I have a one heart song
and, it’s dancing in my head
yes, it feels like a warm Spring breeze
and, it’s just around the bend
No, need to wait
let’s write our song
right now instead
we can add some Stars
and, we’ll add our own guitars
we can mix it up a bit
and,
add a string Quartet —

I think this world could use a song
about all that’s good not wrong
they’ll be cheering in the streets
and, dancing to our beat

The sun will begin to shine again
the wars will finally stop
n', end —

I have a song for you
about Red, White, and Blue
it’s about Uniting us
as one
including everyone
the old, the middle—
and, the young

And, they’ll be cheering in the streets
while they’re dancing to our beat

It’s a one heart song
Yes, where everyone gets along.

She was a dreamer during the day, and a vampire at night
seeing ghosts around every corner in the light
She tried to wish them away for another day
closing her eyes reaching her hands toward the sky
sometimes falling down on her knees/down on her knees
on the pine scented ground she’d pray
whenever there were rainy clouds the sound of grey
wishing/wishing
them away
all around she’d try to listen, or look for signs in tree’s
even in the way her red flowers blew in the breeze
Yeah, she was a dreamer during the day, and a vampire at night
she tried to scare the ghosts away to take away her fright
wishing them away/wishing them away
for another rainy day/for another rainy day
All she heard was the sound of grey
Please take these ghosts away/that’s what she’d always say
sweep them away/sweep them away
I don’t want deal with them today
not today/not today…
Yeah, that’s what she would always say--
whenever/whenever/ she heard the sound of grey.

So many lost souls passing through the station
they've lost their faith in their youth/they've lost their faith in their nation
with broken angel wings
they turned up the wrong road/they've lost their way
they've found themselves silent with nothing to say...
they feel like their life is really over/it's finally through
n' this whole time they've been the fool
now they're at the mercy of men with large arms in uniform
all because these broken angels could not conform
so they curl up in white blankets, and sleep on cold steel
waiting for their court date to make their plea
to the judge that will look down on them
while these angels with broken wings/utter these words..
Oh, Dear Lord Jesus not again
the angel looks up with teary eyes
thinking this is it/this is the end
"My angel wings are finally lost...
Oh, and at what a price/what a cost"

If I Could
TigerEyes Dec 2015
If I could be some kind of God for just a day
I would take all of your pain away
replacing your every crying tear you've ever had, My Dear
turning them into days of sunshine toward the past
I've made plenty of mistakes while you grew up
you were so wonderful to love
heaven sent you to me from above
and, now that you have grown
I wish I could have known
that the same scars given to me as a lass
have now gone onto the next generation's torch to pass
You say that I am dead to you
I pray to God someday that somehow I'll find a way
to stay strong for you, and say
If I could be a God for just a day --
I'd make all your pain, and sadness go away
My daughter I am sending sunshine, and love to you...
Each, and every single day..
I wish that you could see just how precious you are to me...
And these icy tears I cry are just filled with so many questions why...
now my own mother that scarred my heart back when
starting way back before I turned ten...
seems to have convinced you of all her "zen"
it's just so ironic to me that's all...
how all the secrets, and the lies get replaced
I now carry your own Grandmother's disgrace.

I'm calling you from miles--
and miles away
my thoughts are with you

there's just one thing I want to say...
I never wanted to say goodbye
cause you're like the stars that shine in the night
I need your love/I need your light
and, you know -- you're the only one that makes me feel
Yeah, you make me feel--
like everything's gonna be alright
So Baby, won't you please pick up your phone
I just wanna hear your voice tonight--
cause I'm feel'n down, and all alone...
Won't you please bring back your love, and fire--
cause, Baby in this whole entire world
don't you know you're the only one that I desire
I'm calling you from miles, and miles away---
you're the only one that makes me feel
Yeah, you make me feel ---this way
I'm wishing on a star in the midnight sky
n' I'm telling the man on the moon...
I never really wanted to tell you ---goodbye---.

I've been pulled up toward your naked sun
tell me this /this is true/this is real
it has all begun...
This flame inside is burning/burning/burning
a true love like a newfound song/a total yearning
Yearning, yearning, yearning...
Cool me down/hold me down/I want to feel your warm breathe on me
all around/Yeah, all around/You're my hero/you're so strong
Pull me in/Yeah, all night long---
I confess I've thought about you many times, honey
throughout my day during all my stillness...
wondering the things you'd whisper/yeah, what you'd say
looking out my kitchen window in a daydream way
It can be the smallest thing where I find I've pulled you in...
I'm inside your naked sun being tossed n' turned
a flame that stays lit all night long
I feel your gentle soul that's so real/yeah, so kind/so strong
your soul feels like it's inside mine
so in this life/we toss n' turn/within a shared dance
in this life/Yeah, in this/a lifetime of total chance...
Where our moments together just last/and last/where we laugh n' dance n' dance...
Where there is no time/Yeah, there's no space/I've met you again
You are the one love/the one soul I crave...
again, and again
tumbling n' tossing all over /yeah, all over
forever n' ever/all over n' over again.

To believe in yourself...
where does it all begin?
Is it in the mind, or in the soul within?
I believe it waits patiently simply to be found
like a shiny diamond
laying on the ground.
It could also be in the grain of sand you're holding in your hand...
you could even hear it in a song
from a bird chirping happily along.
It could be felt right from the start...
with each moment,
each breathe...
we hold it in our hearts.

A Letter Not Read
TigerEyes Sep 2015
The letter from her mother from another time
reminded her of a loss that she could never find
its ink began fading line by line
her soul left crumpled, and feeling dead
for all the kind words that were never said
a lack of comfort that was never given…
or, ever read --
her only daughter banished away
from her mother to this day
and, so the letter not read collects its dust
because of all the years of broken trust.
TigerEyes Feb 2014
I met an angel once when I was twelve
she told to keep living...
to just be myself.
I met her one morning...
it was raining that day.
I remember it was the month of May
I was late for the bus that was across the street
if I missed it my mom would yell
n' hearing her scream felt like hell.
Against a red light
without looking twice
I ran across with all my might..
it was in that moment
I rushed toward a death
not knowing I'd take in my final breath
I felt the cold metal strike my bones...
I saw beautiful images flashing inside my head
like colorful slides ...
or, perhaps moving pictures instead.
I heard people screaming
I heard them shout..
right before I blacked out
my soul began to take a flight
an energetic tunnel ...
(a kinetic pull)
a spinning funnel.
I felt warmly bathed in mystical light
that seemed to glow incredibly bright
I saw an angel hovering above
she whispered ...
"hold on tight...don't let go...
there's so much left to do
with all the people
you're to know"
I floated up high...so high
pushing toward heaven past the sky...
I could see my my body down below
The angel spread her golden wings
n' she began to sing ...
"Life is about all the joy, and love you can bring"
with that she flew away
n' when life gets hard, or seems too tough...
and I feel like I've had enough
(her words echo to this day)
I remember the message the angel told me that day.

What Time Is Tomorrow?
TigerEyes Mar 2015
What time is tomorrow for all the lovers that are lost
between the smiles from their past
a love they wished had gone on to last, and last--
Yes, they’re so very lost, and buried deep inside
call it ego, call it pride
They're buried deep inside their sorrows
they've lost all of their tomorrows.
Their yesterday’s are all gone
and, the love they shared is like an old forgotten song
and, the memories that they had —
are now all just faded photographs
where they’re hidden from their eyes
to forget the pain, and all the lies
like a Shakespearian play of his, and hers
with the other woman/with the other man
both wanting someone to listen, and to understand
lovers that are lost inside tomorrow
just two wounded souls
lost inside their pain/inside their sorrows---
lost inside
where it rains, and rains.

Out of Corner of her Eye
TigerEyes Aug 2015
Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a ghost that loved to spy

the ghost having lived long ago
flew down from the sky into her open window
dropping flower petals at her feet in rainbow colors
where he would cling to her body
breathing in her every breathe
watching her go about her day
whispering her name softly into her ear
he would brush up against her silk white skin
each night,
forever wanting...
forever haunting
one day...
She caught a glimpse of him
out of the corner of her eye.

There is a girl
that lives on my street
she has blonde hair n' blue eyes
she beams sunshine as she greets..
all the strangers that she meets
n'
She keeps secrets to herself
about all the darkness she's ever felt
This girl's been hurt too many times
and, so she's learned to run n' hide
from those who dare to get to know
all the sweetness inside her soul...
Oh, and she's so beautiful when she's alone
keeping her quiet passage  hidden, and unknown
You caught a glimpse of her dance..
passing her window just by chance...
n' you heard her sing a song...
where you thought angels could belong
with this girl that lives on your street
who beams sunshine to all she meets
but, then carefully retreats
n' you wonder to yourself
what exactly it would take
to show her how you could make
a world for her where she felt safe.

I Don't Know Why (A Song)
TigerEyes Jul 2015
I don't know why you feel this way
All I have to say is I wish you'd stay--
No, no, no/ please don't run, run, away--

Yeah, I just want to dance/in the rain with you---
dance in the rain like we used to do
Please don't say we're through--
Remember all the good days that we had
when we were young, and just so glad
to look into each others eyes/and realize
that our love was here to stay, stay--

I don't know why you feel this way
you've turned your back on me
and, I can't make you see--
that all the things you dislike in me
are really the parts of you
that scare you/that make you run/run/run
just like you always do.
you say we're done--
you don't see/you're just like me/don't want to stay/
got to walk away-----away, away--
Yeah --

All I hear from you is --
you can't take me/got no time/it's my crime
Yeah--

I don't know why you feel this way
All I have to say is I wish you'd stay
No, you don't have to run, run, run
away, away---
I just wish that you would give me a second chance
I just want to dance/in the rain with you --
dance in the rain like we used to do
but you say we're through --
Please stay, stay--

Yeah ---.
Please stay--

Open Season
TigerEyes Dec 2014
It's open season as we walk down the street
we were just keeping to ourselves
when cat calls, and whistles came to us
at the age of twelve
and, we looked to our fathers or, brothers to understand
they took us by the hand
saying,
"It's open season on little girls
now you'll have to put away your dolls n' things
go put on mommy's lipstick, and paint your face
here are some tall boots
and -- a black top with silk n' lace"
Those of us that survived
knew that it was a higher education
that would help us thrive
there were always the ones that sold out
and, you can see them on the street
the challenges of open season
just too great for them to meet.

Oh, What A Life (A Song)
TigerEyes Nov 2015
Oh, what a life this could have been
if only I’d met you then
I would of stared up into your eyes
and, been smitten by your smiles
We would have danced into the night
until the morning light

Oh, what life with someone as amazing
such as you —
the kind of love that’s shared that’s true
with a man as wonderful as you
dancing, and twirling into the night
until the morning light

A chance meeting would have made this wish
come true
Oh, and what a life —
if dreams were wishes that came true
I would choose to be with you.

Here And Gone
TigerEyes Dec 2015
Goodnight, Helen...
my Dear
my Friend...

She was here, and now she’s gone
we had just spoke of the daisy's on her lawn
blowing in the wind
she said there were butterfly’s folding from within
beating like two hearts in love
drumming to the dancing stars above
She was here, and now she’s gone
Helen, I still hear your wistful song
TigerEyes Jul 2014
The front office lady that looked like a man as she handed over her belongings.  She remembered the man-lady's plump hotdog like fingers as her iPhone was pressed into her small, and delicate hand. One phone call allowed. With barely any battery charge left. Everyone she knew was busy at work back home. Scrambling to think of someone, anyone, she called her dry cleaner. Ring. Ring. Ring. A cheerful female voice answers, "He-roe, Sunshine Dry Creaning, how may help?" She nervously spoke, "Uhh, yeah this is-- Taylor. I need you to get me out of this place where I'm at". A pause. "Tay-loe? You have ticket? I can no barely hear." Click. The man-lady with fat fingers wearing man pants with a man shirt bellowed loudly, "We can't let you leave unless you reach someone on the phone!" Miraculously, the young girl's cousin twice removed in Kansas, five thousand miles away, picks up the next call. Hot dog fingers looks angry as she watches the young girl drag her belongings down a well maintained flowery garden path.  The iron gate squeaks open, and crashes loudly behind her. Her nerves feel shot, and she wonders how, or, even if she'll make it home, alive.  In the hot desert 120 degree sun she juggles a large water bottle in one hand as she drags a large melting trash bag on the lava like-desert pavement. She keeps having to run back to retrieve shampoo bottles. Stolen toothbrushes. Scattered clothes. Determined. She keeps walking with her garbage bag, and a single suitcase bumping along the gravel road.  An old beat-up station wagon slows down, and stops next to her. A car door swings open, and the young girl climbs inside.

Someone hands her a cold beer. The hot air from the open window burns her face as her hair blows carelessly in the air. They speed down a lonely desert highway located somewhere in, Nowhere, CA.

The Postcard
TigerEyes Sep 2015
She looked around the house for the last time
before grabbing her soft red sweater off the dining room chair
gazing around
she held a black, and white photograph in her hands
of her once happy family.

Too full of tears for her to stay in palatial like rooms
decorated in the finest furniture
and, each room held its own secret
secrets dripping in rich lush greens
draperies that hung from tall ceilings
making everything appear in perfect order...
on the outside.

She placed the photograph back onto the glistening baby grande piano
the chandelier flickered from above
saying its own kind of farewell
she thought of the chapter in her life that had closed
a life that never really began
and, as she walked out the front door
she wrapped her red soft sweater around her now cold shoulders
managing to toss the postcard he had sent to her from Paris
swiftly into the trash in one fluid motion.
Not really a poem but the start of a short story.

I Won't (A Song)
TigerEyes Dec 2014
I won't let you use me like the other girl hanging on your arm
Yeah, I saw you last night singing to that other girl with your guitar
the way you gazed into her eyes is just like all the other times
you used me like before like a devil at my door

Yeah, and I know it's my own **** fault when I met you in New York
I was taken by your charm but it's the weapon you use to harm
I've seen the damage that you've done n' I just won't be another one
who's been used just like a rag/then your small ego has to brag
you're just a devil that's been at my door n' I don't know you anymore

(hook)
Devil at my door /don't ever come 'round me no more
cause I'll take you down, down, down
if you ever come 'round 'round 'round
I won't be the other girl hanging on your arm
n' all your devil charms don't work no more
I see the devil in all your lies
when I look into your devil eyes

Ghost House
TigerEyes Sep 2015
She floats just above the ground
whenever visitors decide to come around
from room to room she roams
when she's feeling all alone
and, she longs for the laughter that once was --
that echoed up and down her halls
her children are all gone with time and, distance
its made her spirit ache it's been so long
there's the sound of a ticking clock
(tick, tick, tock)
reminding her of a half knitted infants sock
where she remembers leaving it before she left
Oh, and she'd cry if she had any tears
but all she has is her ghost house year after year...
where she roams from room to room
(waiting, always waiting)
waiting for her children to come home soon.

I Won't Let You
TigerEyes Aug 2015
I won't let you take me down
No, this time is your last round
Hell yeah, this is your last round.
You've done this before
you've gone and done this so many times before
I  can't count how many times before
I've got news for you
I'm leaving you at the door.
I'm leaving you poor...
Cause you can't do this to me anymore.
Staying in my home
I don't mind being alone
Step off/get out/
I'm shouting
Think you can wear me down
No, no, no...
I got time/I got energy/I got time all around

I'm standing up to you
standing up to you
and, I'm going to take you down
I'll make sure you're good n' through--
Because of what you do --

before I came around
you did this to another woman
and another woman
and another woman
but not this woman.

All Of The Stars
TigerEyes Nov 2014
All of the stars must have lined up....
for
Steel Grey
and,
Hazel May...
It was 1926 in Paris on a cloudy April day
the sun had been out for a few minutes
but fate had a plan making it go away
when he passed her on that cobblestone street
something magical happened
when their eyes began to meet
each soul wanting
the other to keep
forever n ever to have n' to hold
to stay with the other until they were old
It was on this cloudy April day
when fate would have its way...
Steel Grey
fell in love with Hazel May
and, all the stars in heaven
could never keep them apart
they danced together
with magic in their hearts...
you can still see Steel Grey
and, Hazel May
dancing bright
like two angels in flight glimmering n spinning  ...
inside
all of the stars at night.

The beautiful Princess always said
every night before she went to bed…
I’ll meet you on the other side
when the sun comes up
and begins to shine…
when the world has spun
a million times.
This was the story I always read
just before, (Marleh), went to bed…
Once upon a time in a faraway land…
large castles glistened upon golden sand..
A beautiful Princess sang a song
by the sea - in the sun…
sometimes singing all day long…
under the stars,
under a the moon
she sang a melody,
a special tune…
Her words…her song
had been magic all along…
the animals, the dolphins, and all the birds in tree’s…
they had carried her song in the summer breeze
echoing her magic,
she sang her song…
echoing her love all summer long.
The world had spun a million times..
and the sun was up and— it did shine…
Princess Marleh was all grown up…
no longer the age of nine…
She’d gone off to college, and gained some knowledge
still she hoped a Prince had heard her song…
she had been singing that melody for so very long.
Across the mountain …and over the sea
lived a handsome Prince
as lonely as can be
one day while under the stars
he heard a melody - a special tune
he heard the sound of Marleh’s voice
while standing under the moon
from across the ocean sea’s
her magical song had floated in
on a magical ocean breeze.
The Prince saddled his horse…
that could fly.. of course..
traveling across the sea..
He said,
“Oh, Princess Marleh…
will you please join me
for an afternoon cup of tea?”
And that’s the story of “once upon…”
as the two lived..happily…
happily on…

Sorry, No
TigerEyes Aug 2015
Sorry, no
I don't think so

I don't do that anyway
I don't know why you think that way
cause I'm a woman with some class

Yeah, cause I'm a woman with some sass
And, I'm not just a piece of a**

Sorry, No
I don't think so

Baby, if you can't learn to treat me right
I'll kick, and scream each and every night

So, there's the door
I don't want to be with you...
anymore

and, I'll bury you in the ground
while I'm boxing you up n' down
that's alright by me
cause don't you see...

Well, baby that's just me

I will bite,
and kick and scratch
cause I'm a woman with some sass
Yes, I will kick
Yes, I'll bite
and, I will scratch
Cause baby, that's just me
hope you can finally see

I'm like a cat
I'll scratch, claw, and kick
I'll hiss
I'll do way more than this...

Baby, you better treat me right
because I will put up a fight

Sorry, No
I don't think so

If you think you can get like that
Yeah Baby, I'm gonna be a cat
I'll claw you up n' down
until you can't take another round...

Sorry, No
I don't think so..

Cause you don't know
who you're messing with
while you're saying you're with me
the whole time you've been with her

Sorry, No
I don't think so

Cause you just don't know
who you're messing with
Baby, I can be a total *****
you have no idea who you're messing with

News Speak Nation
TigerEyes Jul 2015
It's just another day in News Speak Nation

Our country tis' of thee
sweet land of the liberty
of thee I sing

It's a News Speak Nation while CNN drones on
they just want you to sing along.

Now the people wonder where we went wrong.

Land where my fathers died
land of the Pilgrims pride

It feels like one big dream
why don't you sing with me?

From ev'ry mountainside
Let freedom ring

While the news keeps blasting on
how we don't get along
the wars keep marching on
It's a News Speak Nation
spreading fear, n' damnation
when every one of us can say
our ancestors made their way
through stormy sea's
to kiss the ground, and pray.
Don't believe what the politicians say
they just want to have their way.
Buying votes as they crack their jokes
playing games with our votes.

Our fathers' God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.

While the gap of the rich and poor
widens deep
the middle class can't compete.

I can’t think of what’s been lost or, gained
all I know is things are not the same
I’m just standing in rain looking back on us again
wondering, wondering
when it all began to take a fall
was it that rainy night when I had called
and, it wasn’t the sound of you at all
I always thought we could beat the odds
it was gonna be you n’ me against them all
now our forever dream has ended
with just crazy lawyers n’ banks contending
sometimes I don’t even think it’s real
cause I’m so numb that I can’t feel

and, I can’t think of what’s been lost or, gained —
all I know is things are not the same —
yeah, baby not the same
there is no love that has remained
just shattered hearts in shattered glass
of all the dreams that we once had

I’m just standing in the rain looking back on us again
I guess that’s where I may have got it wrong
I guess it’s time for me to move along
don’t know where I’ll be going but I’ve got the dog
and, I’m a blowing
gonna stop this wondering now
this change was destiny somehow.

I Don't Know
TigerEyes Nov 2015
It's okay to say I don't know
since the beginning of time
we've wanted control
through bloodied fields
through embittered wars
searching for answers
for more and, more
looking out
instead of in
always outside
not within
causing confusion
confessing sins
dream like illusions
the only conclusion...
is that I don't know a thing.

The little Princess always said...
"I'll meet you on the other side
after the world has spinned around a million times--"
it was the the story I always read
just before you went to bed...
there was the sea, the sun, the stars, n' the moon
in a faraway land...playing a melody...a special tune
in a story..
made up for you
there were Elves with funny ears,
a Prince, a Fairy that laughed so much
(she was prone to toss her lunch)
there was the hiccuping frog
who always seemed to fall off his log
n' the Princess was always you...
who granted wishes
that came true.
Just before she fell asleep--
after the fairy had kissed her cheek...
The Princess always said,
"I'll meet you on the other side...
after the world has spinned a million times--"

Freedom
TigerEyes Feb 2015
Freedom* is like water it shapes anything it will hold
seeking words like faith, and courage
it responds to what it's told.
Freedom rushes danger even in the face of death
willing itself into this form until it finally rests.
Freedom speaks to every color it does not pick, and choose
pouring its shape forever until it rests in you.

Though you may not love me anymore, on any day, in any way
I still love you
My darling I still love you ---
I just spent the longest hour of any day of any hour
thinking of the ways I still love you
(humming)
I may not be able to regain your love, on any day in any way, in any hour
I don't have that kind of power ---
but at least I can say I tried
I tried, and tried before I cried ---
that you would be anything close to me
again--
(humming)
Just remember
It's love I always send
and it will never end--
to you, to you, to you---
I send love to you
you, you, you ---
And though you're dear to my heart
I must make a new start
at something new --
New to me, and you.
New, new, new ---
for me and you.

Until Now
TigerEyes Feb 2015
Until now ...
I had always looked a minute ahead or, a mile down the road
instead of gazing upon a flower that was blooming, or, had grown
Until now...
I had always waited years, and years for happiness to show
Until now...
I looked for love in your reflection
instead of looking deep inside of me.
*Until now...

Chains
TigerEyes Sep 2015
Chained to her bed
she was shaking
Yeah, she looked dead
sliding off she hit head
didn't know that cops could be that tough
didn't know they could be that rough
the inhumanity and,
the lack of dignity
I had so much sympathy
I was trying not to stare
but I couldn't look away
because I cared
I wanted to set her free
I wanted her to
be
like a butterfly
I just wondered
"Why, Oh-Why?"
And that's when I began to cry

How easy it's been for you to discard me
conversations lasting
for hours until half past three
You, a faded ghost now
I watched you slip out my bedroom window
slowly...
leaving me behind
a crushing wall of silence
except for the sound of my own heart beating
and, the wet tears on my face
I hear my breath
in-between my sighs
I know that I am still alive...
and, in the quiet hours when the moon is full
bright, and high in a starry midnight sky
when I gaze outside my bedroom window
I'm reminded of our ghost love
disappearing as the sun begins to rise
and, I think of you.

I set the table for seven
for dinner at eight
telling all my demons n' an angel
"please don't be late"
dress was casual but I said let's have some fun
let's see who can out do the other one
So there's a knock on my door at seven thirty...
it's my first demon guest n' he looks nasty n' *****
I have to hose the dude off before shaking his hand
He introduces himself as he swaggers on in
"Nice joint ya got my name is, Pan"
The other demons finally showed up...
There was Guilt
n' Shame
Anger of course
Grief came along
Sadness too shuffling on by
(looking Oh/so high)
singing a sad song
about how he didn't belong
I cut them off n' said before we begin...
you've been guilt festing me
"like I have sinned"
I'd like to announce you're all going to hell
when my angel here rings this bell
Sorry I must send you away tonight
n' where you're heading
there ain't much light
you've all been a big pain in my a**
cheers to you
(as I held up my glass)
I bid you goodnight for the rest of my life
You've served not one purpose..
just a whole lot of strife.

After you left me alone
my heart was as cold as stone
like some kind of bereft widow
feeling damaged, and feeling ruined..
l used to cry night after night
into my pillow
slowly I began to gaze up at the sky
I noticed the sun...
I admired the light
my spirit was revived
Yeah, my life had just begun.
Now you're just a faded memory
like the coffee stained photograph
that I came across today
I had locked them up
tucked them away..
so you could be a faded memory
distancing you from me
rebuilding myself
with a newfound reverie
to forget the past, and your misery..
like when I made you go away
on a mid-December day
there's still a black spot
by the door...in the hall
where I through your shoe
n' missed your head
hitting the wall instead..
I said...
"We're done...we're through..
I'm so fed up with you!"
Until I found this coffee stained photo
I'd almost forgotten
all the different shades of you
when you left me wearing...
nothing but black n' blue.

I'm slip'n away again
if there's a window, or a door
n' you just happen to be
that person that wants more...
than, Baby I got news for you
I'm heading for the next state
n' I'm sorry if this came too late...
It was not my intention to hurt you..
I'm like a bird in the sky you can't see
cause' I'm flyn' next to the sun
I like the thrill of feel'n the heat
I'm glad we got a chance to meet ...
here's the deal/I have to keep it real
It's in my nature to fly sky high..
feel the wind blown' in my hair
n' where I land I just don't care..
I know you had a plan..
here's the thing, Baby..
I have to be who I am
n' that's a girl that's on the run...
blowing in the wind
searching for anything that sounds fun
Yeah, I'm slip'n away again..
Yeah, think of me --
when you look into the sun.

Not to sound cynical but --
the modern woman is saying...
it's just a matter of time...
before the new guy in my life's gonna go
yeah, he's gonna stray--
She says...
"Wow, if I had a dime is all I have to say...
What does the modern woman have to do?
Turn icy?
Turn into an ocean that's frozen blue"
She says...
"We can't turn into glass..
we'll just end up shattered n' broken
crying on our *** "
(even though they like us all soft -- and, warm)
with adoring eyes that flash up at them
saying,  "I love you Baby-Baby-Baby, over n over again..."
n' She says,
"Then they wonder why
we don't put up with their bullshi* n' all their lies..."
She says,
Let me tell you a little secret about the modern woman...
she's smart, independent, n' wise.
Yeah..
She's burned out of the megalomaniac guys
She hopes you like hoops...
cause she has a lot of ropes -- with complicated hoops...
that you get to jump on through
to prove that it's worth her time
for her to even be with you
She says,
"I hope you can run fast -- n' that you like the chase...
cause baby, baby -- you're in for one hell of a race."

She'll move on -- yeah, she'll be long gone
if you've done her wrong...

Because she owns her time...
she owns
her own dimes...
she knows her worth...
She's knows that she's a beautiful Goddess..
that lives with Joy as she walks this Earth.

This is how it's always been..
since you were the age of ten
your momma told you...
"Smile when you're feel'n blue
you'll find that others are happy for you
they don't have to know
that it's not true---"
you've lived your whole life up on the stage
a place to display
all your sadness, and your rage...
And your momma said...
"So smile even if you feel blue
they don't have to know
that it's not true--
don't stop those lights from flashing on you"
I know when I look deep in your eyes
you're tired of acting out so many lies
just take my hand
let's make some cool plans
we'll start all over in a new land
We'll buy a big house across the pond
with lots of cattle
n' lots of green lawn...
I hear you saying that we can't go
there's a new deal that you just can't blow...
"Momma needs a new car, dress, n' some shoes
I gotta smile even when I feel blue
they don't have to know that it's not true---"

In A Land Called Far Away
TigerEyes Nov 2014
In a land called far away
where there is Magic everyday
you can dream of a life you really want
perhaps you even live in Camelot
in a castle that floats up in the sky
you can float on pink magic carpets
up so high
Dragons say hello as they fly by...
Little Fairies bring you presents all day
begging you to come out n' play...
And couples stay together forever n' ever...
Because they know they've found treasure.

From Above
TigerEyes May 2015
He said he's proud of me from up above
Yeah --he's so happy that I know true love
and that I'll never let myself be hurt again
by all the Jim's and Steve's
who hid all their hurt up inside their sleeves
Oh, My Father -Oh My Father
can you hear me from up above?
someone said you could hear my music--
yeah, that you could see
that you are floating around me now
you hear my music
you've memorized my music
and you sing with me right now...

You wrapped your sweet sound
your sweet sound all around me
oh it was my sweet sound around me --
Oh, I heard you -- I heard you --- "Baby, you just sleep
your Daddy's here -
please baby don't cry/ please don't weep
I promise / I promise
I'll see you in a week

Oh Father - Oh Father -
I sing to you all the time
I remember every rhyme...
can't you make it like it was
like it was with you n' mommy
with you, and mommy
the very, very --- last -- last -- time
you said.. I will come around
I sing to you on rainy days
I sing to you because it seems..
that's when I see the bright
sunshine rays...

I feel your spirit with me ---
each and every day.

There's been a shadow haunting me
that I don't really ever want to see
and I've come to a point in my life, where...
I believe ~ acceptance has got to be the key

and inside the stillness
of all this darkness
there's a melody within the shadow
    musical notes ...
being played out on a grande piano

This shadow is a part of my soul
n' I feel that I just need to let go...
this burning fire that's a part of me
I've decided ... I can't control

... if I just stop for a moment to see
and hear...
then  I can finally wipe away these tears
and, accept that it's all okay
that I was born to be this way.

I haven't met you yet
but your eyes were so dark, and wild
your thoughts were sparked with fire...
like those of a mystery held inside a child
you uttered something about Kepler
or Shakespeare, perhaps...
I watched your soft lips moving
and, I knew I was in love
that we...
were in love.
