I'm better now.
It only hurts when
I manage to
Breathe.

I'll help you pack.
Carry to your Volvo.
When you leave,
I'll either wave back or

Throw this stone
When I know you're
Out of
Reach.

You thank me for taking
Things so well.

Remember, only one of us
Stopped loving
The other.
The other

Is still the same. Only pale with
Pain and shortness of breath.

After denial, confusion and
Anger, all that's left is
Character.
Will you scream at the sword
As it turns, or laugh
Carelessly bleeding out?

I'll handle things how I always
Have. Carve my features on
This stone, so my softness won't
Soften you.

I'm more than
Just a straight face,
You know.

Caroline loves the ocean.
Her soul sails on a Carolina breeze.
But her music's in the mountains,
and her heart's back home
where it needs to be.

I'm stuck here
in a Carolina wind,
wading in the ocean
with my heart in Tennessee,
and my mind on Caroline.

Carolina's got everything
a man could want.
Everything he needs.
It's got the mountains and the ocean.
It has a Carolina breeze.

He has everything but Caroline;
everything but Tennessee.

everything will wear over time
wether it be the pavement
a humans life
or your hand in mine

we memorise the lines
and play on fixed emotions
embedded in black ink
to a poem, or styled mime

words begin to fade
the musty scent of
yellowed, aged pages
everything will wear down
eventually

Over Time
Yup.

"Hi,
A week has gone and I miss you."

What?
"I miss you, yes I do."

Who?
"It's you. You've heard me."

How?
"Think I miss the warmth of your presence, yes I do."

Why?
"Can't seem to let a day pass without talking to you.
I love the way you do.
I love you."

When?
"Yesterday. Now. Tomorrow."

Where?
"Anywhere. I'll still be loving you."

"Think I know I do.
Think I know you don't."

"Think I know I love you.
Think I know you love me not."

Yet.

'Taiga" she screamed.
Jumping up on the table; embodying a tree.
She kissed me softly.
Between her eyes, a small metal thing.
You have gone beyond the bounds.
Inked only lightly.
Pretending.
An eye and blueberries.
Drew her name in the sand.

She made (you) radioactive.
Fallout trailing in your (wake).
You fell from your sweet heaven (to)
(the) hell you now reside in.
(Disaster) dismantled all that you knew.
A crimson smile (that) blinded you
as you fell to the ground.
Everything (is) ash.
(Your) happiness faded with the
        heated embers after
        the explosion.
Your (life) crumpled around the
        mushroom cloud that was
        your sweet downfall.

I take a walk into the parkour graveyard,
looking for Polish dealers and cellphone halos.
I heard Thoth resides in sobriety,
but words fail me
whenever you are near.

I let my tongue run in endless stutters,
disguising 'I love you' as some off-hand request.
I could take you to dinner,
I could show you a longing
without the need for ***.

This late-night food has lost its flavour.
This ******* never picked up.
All that is left is to dial these numbers,
and wait by the window
for any car but yours.

Let's take a walk to the railway bridge.
We'll smoke a joint by the open forest.
You'll push your breath into mine,
make me high,
and forget why I ever
felt so low.
