I could feel your bones as they ache
and fell in love with the sound
that they make, stretched over mine.

their moans and their whispers told
all I’ve ever wanted to know
without a word escaping your mouth.

could you love me, bare and true
without the reflection of you
etched across my forehead?

could you take these broken bones and
fix the mess that was never your own?
Because I would love to be yours.

CA Guilfoyle
Of all the colors
or incense of fragrance imbued
of lavender in fields, violet blue
or softer still the lilac florets all abloom
pale silk, sweet the honeysuckle dew
drips and drinks the yellow painted tanager
and flits afield the newly winged swallowtail
the thrum and dance of bees bright in floral symphonies
gathering, heavy laden in the bending breeze
of all the colors, this bird iridescently shimmering
blue into the disappearing trees
too soon another day to lose
of all the colors, a favorite
I can never choose.

Native Intuition
The animals
we pretend not to be
Confiding in technology
Hiding in comforts
Spirits lying dormant

We ache to belong
Never knowing how wrong

Never understanding
that we're all composed
of the same universal song

From the Earth that inward pulls
Like the song of the last wild wolves.

Sometimes
I decide to open up to you
But then
As soon at the words are out
I instantly regret
And I want to
Take them back
But I can't
And it makes my heart hurt
Because I'm vulnerable
I feel naked
And you know,
So then,
Of course,
Instead of telling you why
And possibly helping you understand
My fear of opening up
I cut off the conversation
It's gone
No use in talking to me anymore
I'm gone
And I stitch my mind and heart
And I run
Then you feel like you did something
Wrong
But you didn't
You were right
So right
I'm wrong
Then I go home
And the loneliness is back
And...
Where are my blades?

I don't belong to you.
I belong to the world.
I am of the essence of the stars.
I am meant to be free,
to be wild,
and to run with the hunted.
The quote at the end "Run with the hunted" is from Charles Bukowski. I really love his work.
