Monday, we are lovers
Tuesday, we are complete strangers
Wednesday, you are so nice
Thursday, you are like a devil in disguise
Friday, I want us to be well
Saturday, all you do is yell
Sunday*, we are starting to fall—

I just don't get you at all!

aphrodite
You never eat,
you barely sleep -
you've become immune to fresh air.
You never cry,
you're always high -
dull eyes occupied by vacant stares.
You hardly think,
but turn to drink
when it's time to make a choice.
You're the walking dead,
your words unsaid
will never have a voice.

*** and love
are not synonyms
I didn't fall in love with you
because you touched me
I fell in love with you
because you made flowers grow
inside of me
when no one else could

one, two, three
you stole the heart in me
four, five, six
you are such a *****
seven, eight, nine
i thought that you were mine
now, *ten

ten is where it ends.

I am weak,
I am alone,
I see things other people don't.

I am broken,
I am cut,
I am everything she's not.

I want to bleed,
I want to cry,
All my life I'll wonder why.

the problem with
being a poet in love,
is that you savour
& trust each word your lover has
without  question.

we are simply in love
with bare literature,
spoken from the lips of someone we hold
in higher regard
than ourselves sometimes.

when you love a poet
each word you utter,
should be a piece of artwork

each sentence,
a highly thought out structure of awe and beauty to leave us seeping
in the warmth of your voice
caressing such fine words

so when deciding that you love someone,
who writes or reads
fill their souls with beauty, memories & truth especially,
for a poet's heart breaks at ease.
