as i wish
upon a star
this lonely
new year's eve
i won't be
going anywhere
and yet i will
not grieve
i only hope
the gift i wish
will surely
be received

i ask
providence
in heaven
for the blessings
of your youth
that you'd dream
just as a child
and those
dreams will become
TRUTH

that ink would flow
from wells so deep
that starlight's
in the quill
that the parchment's
as endless
as the measure
of your
will

and then
i would that
galaxies
scintillating
there
where they shook
wherever you look
in the
fireworks
glare

that each star
that winks above
as far as
you can see
will be a blessing given
and you'll know
it's from

ME

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

your friend
Catherine

I am not afraid of what you bring.
Actually, I invite the new beginning.

A clean slate?
Maybe even a blind date?
I dare to say it might be fate.

You can keep that frown in your pocket,
And don't forget last years gown.
I am waiting patiently for this countdown.

To my new cheer,
To my new dear,

To my last fear,
To my last tear,

For, I am ready to embrace this New Year!

When I'm alone I dream of days lost In the many folds of Time's robes
Who's errors have been forgot but Who's joys have been replayed
When I'm sad I think of all those Friends I lost along the way
I think of how they shaped me
And made me who I am today
And I thank them all for leaving me
And for the room they made
They have left a legacy
That I cannot trade
They have written history
As history was made
