I'm SORRY

Paper clips are man's best friend
keeping us together when we
needed to fall apart.
They say that practice makes perfect
but i have practiced self-love for
some time now.
I am still stuck on the hope
that one day things will just click into place
so i am not fighting a war on how to love myself.
Perhaps i need to learn that self-love
doesn't need to be practiced but to be left
alone, for it is rooted inside of us,
waiting to blossom.

I have taken myself to far.
I have given myself over to
something to strong.

This frenzy
lifts me to my
fate.

Guides me to my
doom.

Into you.
Is where i will fall

Your hogging
the equilibrium

I see you
dying
to come out
and ruin me.

Am I getting this wrong, again?
I just want you so bad

Falling for someone you don't entirely know,
You are tirelessly entering an endeavor you are to lose,
You give your entire being to an entirely different entity,
Who entices you with flashes of brilliance and mistery.
You effortlessly exert effort for a hopeless cause.
You are endlessly waiting for an eternity that will not come,
You picked a battle you have lost long before you could have won.
To fall in love with someone you barely know, don't do it, just please, don't.

I am the wind always whispering your name.
I am your pawn, but you never play the game.
I am the hope that you can never quite find.
I am the safety that you'll never reach in time.

I am the beat that sounds underneath the show.
I am the seed, but you never let me grow.
I am the breeze you don't feel on your face.
I am the voice that you can never quite place.

I am the passerby that you won't recall.
I am the spring, but you're stuck in the fall.
I am the sound when you think you're hearing things.
I am the telephone that never seems to ring.

I am the detail that you forgot to mention.
I am the math, but you didn't pay attention.
I am the scenery you never think about.
I am the trend from last year that's now out.

I am the lost thought at the back of your mind.
I am the rainbow, but you are colorblind.
I am the girl you're unable to see.
I am praying for the day you become aware of me.

When you ask about one,
people tend to answer with another.

For example:
When you ask somebody
about love,
they tell you about
heart break.
Of physical pain
released through cathartic tears
and
the thumping pitter in your chest whenever you next see
their face.

And when they ask about
my boyfriend
I speak loudly and proudly
of my girlfriend's soft lips
and her love that echoes
as though she had brought light
unto my very essence.

When they ask about
the feel of the earth,
they talk not of the
touch and feel and gritty
texture
but the damp, rotting
smell discretely placed
for you to oppose.

So tell me, friend,
if I were to ask:
Have you had a good day?
Would you answer with the
time your dearest made you
cry
with laughter,
or would you answer with
the void that ***** the
laughter away?
hope y'all enjoy! I wrote this after somebody suggested writing about the positives of a seemingly negative situation as a form of therapy. It's definitely a refreshing way to look upon things!
