Seán Mac Falls
.
Frost, climbing across
And the air, still, laden
Snows dimple ground,
As trees shiver, naked,
Wind massages, creeps
And sun, slow subdues,
Flew birds away swept,
Icicles dropping intrude,
This is an end beginning,
Cold over warms winning.

( Sonnet )*

In the drugs of the airs so nearly
By her, deep in delusions of youth,
I followed dry some salt seas soul,
Blinded by a siren, in the sundials,
Of her dark, entangling, dire red hair.

My soul was unmembering and lost,
My body, tided to the moons glows
And pull, she rowed us deep before
Dawn, and a drowning mans shanty
Cut my ears.  Was not all dreamland?

Were the stars merely eyes that sailed
Into a sailors tall tales token etched on
Scrimshaw, of bones gut ghostly white?
Do mermaids in waves, pine for mortals?

today a friend
reminded me,
a quote by
Elbert Hubbard,
"love grows by giving.
the love we give away
is the only love we keep.
the only way to retain love
is to give it away."

indeed,
so let it be
write the inscription
let my epitaph read,
"lived fully...
gave plenty
loved gently
died empty."

~

*and let the post script read...

"yes, his whisky ran dry
as he lived so he died."

We wanted to make sense of the world, So we colour-coded it, like our school schedules.
Then we realized we got the colours wrong.
Outside colours weren't the way to organize, so we looked on the "inside".
Who was to think that we can see everyone's colour?
They looked at the emotions we display.
Just because I can't smile everyday, doesn't mean I'm different.
It means I am sane enough to not wear a mask everyday of my life.
Then again, sane isn't exactly a word that describes me...*
Something else describes me, something I took long to admit
something the world doesn know partly because I haven't told it
but mostly because the world always sees what it chooses
After all in not knowing there's nothing it loses, or there is
In case it could profit from knowing about my bruises
And my random thoughts that cloud my mind everyday like a mystic frost
Times when I'm all caught up in this boundless ocean, life,
And cannot see my way or the sickening and thickening waves coming my way
Nobody knows I'm a ship with no radar, only no body ever paid attention
That's why I lean on only nobody, and nobody's my ladder.

So all of them knelt down to pray
For their comrades who were gone too soon
In the soggy swamp where they lay

Weaker and weaker they grew, day after day
Cause battle had intensified throughout June
So all of them knelt down to pray

They wished to rewind time least to May
With the rhythm of their Heartbeat out of tune
In the soggy swamp where they lay

Clouds had cast a thick canopy allowing no single ray
To touch their bloated bellies threatening to balloon
So all of them knelt down to pray

From a distance they heard a Donkey in horror bray
Sending shock-waves through the battered platoon
In the soggy swamp where they lay

They'd agreed to wait for aid on a tray
'Course help would come but they needed it soon
So all of them knelt down to pray
In the soggy swamp where they lay
Niamh used it, so I decided to give it a try because I like the style
Thanks Niamh :))

Someday you'll come my way
With blessings from paradise
For every night I pray
For someone with Angel eyes

Someday you'll be walking by this road
Then we'll meet and appreciate we did
Both too glad to share our load
And our deepest desires and need

Someday we'll share the tightest embrace
Holding each other like we'll never part
With my patience and God's grace
Someday we won't be worlds apart

But until then this distance between us
Feels like that twixt Earth and Mars
