Charles Bukowski
the flesh covers the bone
and they put a mind
in there and
sometimes a soul,
and the women break
vases against the walls
and the men drink too
much
and nobody finds the
one
but keep
looking
crawling in and out
of beds.
flesh covers
the bone and the
flesh searches
for more than
flesh.

there's no chance
at all:
we are all trapped
by a singular
fate.

nobody ever finds
the one.

the city dumps fill
the junkyards fill
the madhouses fill
the hospitals fill
the graveyards fill

nothing else
fills.

scrunch your eyes tight enough
and the scene will play
the way you wrote it

give me smoke
and your labyrinth fingerprints
on the throat of a bottle

brand me with lipstick stains
my own shimmering pools of ruby
straight from the angel's mouth

hop-skip of our words
like stained-glass window
dragonfly wings

swelling with colour
but careful! they'll break
if you squeeze them too hard

let's pretend the morning
sleeps on the horizon
a charcoal galaxy of days away

we'll go walking together
in the summer dark
and forget what we're supposed to do
with our hearts

the world, cloyed in an expanse of white,
looks to gray skies for consolation

somewhere critters
   sleep, even dream,
      perhaps hope
but only humans console

So many lines and laments
scribed in ink and feeling,
for the girl who is the ocean

but she is a swell and surge
too dauntless and wild,
for a lover whose bones crave the shore.

She craves the squalls and gusts,
and cast iron skies,
a worldly drift to sate the salt in her skin,
the deep pull of currents in her blood.

She is chaotic but not reckless,
she is fickle, but not feckless.
Love her boldly or not at all
her bones belong to the sea
but she will always return to the shore.
Wow thankyou for the kind words everyone. Feels really good to know people enjoy my words, and my first Sun too!

it's been more than a year
since you left
got a new job
in a new state

left me behind
alone

you showed me love
but took it away with you

now i'm laying here
thinking about you

it's been more than a year
i should be over you
i've been with others since you left

i guess your love was strong
i look for that love in every man
i still look for you in all of them

no one knows how to
make love as if their
life depends on it.
death does.
entering and exiting
while maintaining
perfect eye contact.
giving what it takes
fully.
bracing patience, with
the sturdiness of a
promise: ' I'll always be
gentle, even when I come...
we'll go together.
What lives to die inside
you can't lie.'

I've seen how the loss of industry can decimate a town.

Like when that yo-yo factory was closed down
and the workers all hung themselves from lampposts
and just bounced up and down.

Up and down.

cheryl love
Smooth, silky and seductive
The pleasure was all mine.
Chocolate melting in the back of my throat
Dripping like the sands of time.

i fall in love with everyone
and my lips are never chapped
so now i eat cinnamon toast
   and i paint the sun
    with blackberry juice

Ocean fires
Why do we ignore the poor
As they wash up on our shores
Children drown in the deep
While we sit comfy in our seats

The fireflies rain down
Tearing their homes to the ground

Still youre unable to comprehend
the love lost in the souls of men

Green God of America
Manufactured consent
Why should you care
If you can pay your rent
