The leaves on the trees are changing colors
Shades of red, yellow, purple, and brown
Soon they will begin to flutter to the ground
Our Fathers magic is upon us again
With the season change comes twisting wind
Freedom flutters just like the leaves
De-stressing our hearts to the state of tranquility
Making us thankful for what we have grown to be
Autumn is the Lords well needed season
To calm our souls
Move us forward with reason
Truly a beautiful & Joyous season

Seasons changed
And the trees sighed,
There tears were many
Leaves were green,
But as nature yearned,
At the loss of the seasons
Spring,
Summer,
Now seeing it change
Autumn,
Winter,
Brought different shades,
Tears falling
From up on high,
These were tears that nature
Held on to till to late,
Red,
Yellow,
Purple,
And
Brown,
Were falling, as wind blew
The tears on nature did
Fall,
Upon the
Ground,
Naked of foliage,
All the beauty had fallen
Tears Decayed on the ground
Nourishing the soil
Tears of old
Bring new life from,
What had fell seasons before,
Waiting for the change
Of seasons
To bring the beauty, to once again grow.

Discover me by the shallow of the stream
Where the wind blows as I dwell in a dream
In the heart of wonder I shall delight to find
Pieces of myself through peace of mind

Instrumentals sound as the worries decay
Dawn breaks free as the vibrant leaves sway
Wrens sing cheerfully as though only for me
Emerald for my touch and breath for poetry

Won't think on the doubt that invades my soul
Nor the strife that builds until it overflows
New chances emerge and I can rightly see
I can't always be for others, I can only be

Will depart from here yet I will return fast
Where uneasiness is a thing of the past
Simply need relief from an enduring fight
Solitude worships a tranquil state of mind

Tryst
Rita heard the doorbell go
A-DANG-A-****-A-DING!
She put aside her favorite book
And ran outside to take a look,
But at the door, well wouldn't you know
She didn't find a thing!

She went inside and sat down
And then it went again,
A-DING-A-****-A-****-A-DANG!
The doorbell chimed, the door bell rang,
She ran outside and looked around
But once again in vain!

Rita felt so very cross,
"I've had enough!" she said!
Instead of rushing back inside
She looked for somewhere she could hide
And found a patch of comfy moss
And made herself a bed!

It wasn't long when Rita heard
A-DING-A-DANG-A-****!
And there upon a fluttered wing,
A hummingbird began to sing,
Such beauty in his trilling words
That Rita joined the song!

When the chimes came to an end,
The hummingbird looked glum;
He gave the bell a mighty clang,
The door bell rang, and then he sang!
And Rita laughed at her new friend,
She'd never had such fun!

Smiling still, she went indoors
To read the next few lines;
Short-lived was her tranquility,
And solitude was not to be!
She giggled as he played once more
Those humming door bell chimes!

In the blank pages
Where my feelings flow freely
Once suppressed within my heart
The ink overflows with emotions
Across the white canvas
Where the nomadic mind gets respite
From constant supervision of the world
The blank pages offer a tranquil retreat
Healing the soul of all travails
For Joe Cole's challenge.

Another page is turning,
a brand new chapter waits
Soothing as a subtle wind,
opening the gates

Sunshine morning callings,
tested skies of blue
In the wake of destiny,
life has brought me you

Tender now the twilight,
pristine as the dawn
Moonbeams shatter innocence,
can it be so wrong

Breathless consequences
somehow seem to fly
Dancing on this tilted edge,
moments passing by

Sleeping on the grasses,
sifting sand our beach
Every piece of happiness
here within our reach

Flutes to play the sunset,
a soft and easy flow
Tapestries of amber tint,
daylight moving slow

Comets in the heavens,
flashing streaks of white
Bring us close together
on this moon lit night

Solitude for lovers
lives within our hearts
Reaping every longing
while we are apart

Obstacles precede us,
fences far and wide
Still our love keeps growing
never shall it hide

Finding truthful answers
live on while we breathe
For we belong together,
this I do believe

The time in my youth that taught me about true peace
Was fishing with my Papa on the coast of the East
We'd get up in the morning before sunrise
Papa would wake me with sparkle in his eyes
I'd jump down from the bunk bed
When my feet hit the floor Smells of
Grandma's hickory bacon would rush to my head
She would wrap the bacon up in a biscuit and pack it to go
I'd grab the bag of bread crumbs we'd been saving
for the seagulls, to strew
We'd pile it all in the SUV
The poles clasped firm on the front bumper
Papa's clever bumper holder made of PVC
I can smell the salt air so clear
Papa and Grandma are always with me
Ahh, that is true tranquility!!!
THE GOOD OLE DAYS
PEACE IN MY HEART THAT WILL NEVER DEPART put this on a notch above the daily fluff for Father's day  Love you Papa Angel, to stay!!

Tranquility

I listen to the sound of the breaking waves,
smell the salt tang in the air
I watch the graceful seagulls
ride the thermals way up there
No sound of human voices,
no strident car alarms
I sit in natures solitude,
enraptured by her charm
The sea reflects the sinking sun
in hues of red and gold
I'll never tire of such sights
though I grow grey and old
The first gleam of the evening star appears
in the ever growing dark
and the golden crescent of the moon
begins her journey through the night
No words of mine can best describe
natures perfect charm
This is peace, a perfect peace
tranquility and calm

And so my friends the challenge this week is simple, two words this time. Tranquil/tranquility and solitude in your poem

The heron sits still
in the tranquil waters
waiting with patience for its prey
casting a shade with its wings
the fish squirms between its beak

I find solace in the clouds
-she brings rain
to cool my brow

tranquil in my fever-
I close my eyes
and leave here

solace in tranquility.
