Your veins are my roots
I’m just an attachment to you

and it is through you that I feel this earth

I only feel what is real when I feel you -

in the icy swirl
          of deep-inhale
            I reach down inside
                      to darkest
       heated flesh-fabric
removing the clothing
of my soul,
feeling the layers
                slowly  undone
                      the flay
                        of my own fleece
                          the peeling
                    of my own pelt
            penetrating
                through tissue,
                     a journey to the
                          deep heart of me,
                         cut in one clean move
                         and yet, like a miracle
                  there is
             no pain
                   just magnet-connect
                     beyond the cusp
                            of words
                              that curl from our
                                             tongues
                                      rising up in
                      latticed affirmations
                    a cleansing in frost
a constant, aquamarine renewal
and there is no past
no future
      just this prism
           of crystal liquid jewels
      flowing in
gentle,
         cellular music
             straight into the strands
                    of our veins
and I miss you
like you have gone
on the long winter hunt
my longing splayed out
like an animal skin on
                    four poles
its tendons stretched
beyond measure
yet holding fast
with a roof over my head,
                    I acknowledge
             my restlessness
I am my own
       hunter-forager,
         both searching and found,
                     gathering up bits
               of velocity
stroking the ribbons
of passion
stoking the fires of my
              heart and hearth
protecting what is us
like a lioness
for we are overflowing
with both strength
         and tenderness
              our own bones
ingredients of the wild soup
of our feral union
of our constant rebirth
our very dna
          weaving itself
like heartstrings
               in the rush
of
       time

South River morning melody , miraculous and intimate , refrain from cheapening her song with the human voice nor manmade instrument , for this is music of a purity and degree we cannot comprehend* ..

What She Look Like?

…Like one
tenderly hushing
water in her lap
Elemental peace
No place to go
No more to be
…Like the ocean
in the background
of a photo on a warm spring day
belying
rage
and the random possible
thrash--

out!

at all guilty ******* in her path
Toss in the next sentient soul
who should happen to pass
within range
who should have seen
who should have known
what a storm could do….

Moody in the aftermath
and sorrier than rain
With the tide in retreat
grumbling excuses
Hiding out waist-deep in dusk’s Merlot
Waiting for night to sleep it off

to heal the rifts
cleanse the shame

Rising
yellow, bright— and

“What the hell happened, here?!”

____

Her hair
a winter’s tragedy of trees
upside down—
No wait— the wind has put her right
to ragged random branches
swaying, wet with intermittent hues
of dark and silver
caught in collar, flying inelegant and free
at the shoulders of the levee
tossed and softening shyly
sagging jaw and nose a stump of tree
All perspective changes…

if you watch a while—

She’ll raise her eyes
into the sunset
to catch an eagle
entering
flight

…and then you might…

___

She looks like—
a pudgy robin
querying grass
mud soaked
that hides the fire of her breast
tugging at a worm
more than half her length
“I will feed them, **** you!
Give it up, you son of a snake!”
_____

...Don’t miss her hour of music though
for anything
Encroaching darkness
from the rooftops
she listens to the hearts she breaks

Remember this in winter
she can give but she will take
it out on February
when you’re longing
for her
Only male robins do the singing; females do the choosing.

There are very few recent  photos of me.  Thus this poem.

From yesterday to today
In a span of 24 hours...my dear self
we've come a long way
We still have miles to travel
Countless destinations await us
So many strangers destined to meet us
Over the past few years...much has happened..
From crazy love to brutal heartbreaks we've seen it all...
From mountains to deserts to villages to cities
Sometimes watching the sun set in the desert sky
Sometimes dancing and singing with bedouins
Sometimes passing through the most picturesque of villages
From scaling snow capped mountains
To skinny dipping in the cold water bodies
Trying perhaps in vain to decipher life
Honestly I've stopped all this ******* now
What's my purpose here? ..how does it matter?
All I know is that as a person I have to try and be the best I can be...
So my dear self...it's a new day...it's a new show
Once again here we go......

There you go again.  With that smile.  I really cannot turn away from such a smile.  So I smile back.  As our brown eyes lock for but a moment.. Everything is forgotten around me. I don't know where I am, I don't know who is talking, all I know is that my eyes are locked to yours..   This is how you make a dream..  Take that moment and multiply by itself.. That will equal " Me getting lost in you."
It started with a smile.....

.
I am an island child,
Of dire rocks and thistle,
Clear lake and lone skies,
Of bonny birds who whistle,
I race the strands with tides,
Waiting for my lad to meet,
So lonely are the night stars
I dreamt in my loft to sleep,
Far is the isle of my mind,
To slip away on new voyage,
Near is the sorrow into kind,
As I wait for keep in marriage.

I could see the blue glow all around me..
I felt pressure in every part of my body..
Almost as if I was deep under water..
But I was in darkness..
A darkness so dense it almost seem to have weight..
The blue glow became shine..
And the weight of darkness was getting lighter..
I was now able to walk in the heavy darkness toward anywhere..
The lines in my hands had blue lightning running through them..
My shine now tunred into rays of light..
Cutting and burning through this wicked heavy darkness..
Everywhere I stepped, everywhere I had been was being replaced with light..
I became a blue star in the end..
It took me 222 years to walk the planet and fill it with light..
Along the way I found out that I had died with my race very long ago..
All that was left was a small splinter of light..
A light I had always belived in..
Turns out it belived in me..
My planet lives again..
Without us in it..
Only me..
At the end of my light travel I come to the final splinter of darkness..
And wonder, what believed in this so much that it killed everything on my planet..
Whatever it was I knew it was still out there..
And I needed to find it!

So... What if I flew too close to the sun,
cimbing steadily through the open air
and my feathers all fell off, one by one.

Freedom and a reckless moment of fun
mixed with a child's propensity to err...
I know I will fly too close to the sun.

I left the earth with my song, still unsung,
drifted along, alone, without a care
and my feathers all fell off, one by one.

A chimeric mirage, to which I clung
and I pleaded Fates, my wings to repair.
So what, if I flew too close to the sun.

The journey over, quick as it'd begun.
Shining bright was the sun's terrible glare,
and my feathers all fell off, one by one.

The path once chosen, could not be undone
when caught in simple, Fates' auspicious snare.
So... What if I flew too close to the sun,
and my feathers all fell off, one by one?
