Nat Lipstadt
the higher standard
~
the excuse jar emptied,
plenty of time,
still flush with inside insights
but end all, stillborn, flushed

poems entitled,
but not embodied,
the cards dealt,
but each hand folded,
the stack of chips
slowly diminished,
many small ventures
for no gain

a verse, a stanza
but no bonanza,
the mirror of mine own
editorial critical gaze enhanced,
judges the work unpurposed,
nothing passes muster
not a one invited to the
high school last dance

even this lamentation
by way of explanation,
itself defective,
but yet slogging on,
progresses - perhaps

paper and pen
long since discarded,
yet mental imagery of myself,
surrounded by mountains
of crumpled drafts
rising up to fill the
surrounding empty floor spaces,
feels so real, I am, ha ha,
floored and flummoxed

somewhere  unbeknownst how,
received a crucifixion transfusion,
the mind's blood now tainted
by this holier barrier,
subsequently diagnosed as
an official human ailment -
the higher standard

the faucet of words
fills the sink,
disordered, spouted molecules,
despite the clarity of water,
reformation needy for a reformatting

nothing suffices,
the quench unmet,
this purifying filter imposition -
the higher standard
reduces my scribbling scriptures,
to ashen dust, scattered
among the gigabytes
in a rented cloud

supposedly available for resurrection,
when the Messiah of Satisfactory
arises from the place,
where all messiahs await,
for further testing,
all caught, but none released

even this mea culpa to myself,
unsatisfactory, barely avoiding,
the usual suspects of inadequacy
and almost discarded,
nearly failing the language barrier,
the last test,
is it worthy of disseminating?

Oh, how you have captured my heart
like some dark angel
who  lulls me to sleep
with tinder whispers in the night.
Oh, you have captured me
as though I were a  rabbit
in a snare
and I am helpless before you.
Oh, do you know
how deeply
this loves grown.
Oh, do you know
that you are all the world to me.
Oh, your lovely heart
that beats within you
is such a great treasure to me.
You have carried me away
like a great overpowering flood
and all my will is gone.
Oh, you hold my soul
every fiber that I am
in the palm of your hand.
Oh, you are the queen of heaven
and beloved of my soul
and my love of you
will never let me return
to the broken and defeated man
that I was.
For you have breathed new life
into my soul.
Oh, there is nothing I would not do
to win your sweet love
and hold you forever
in my heart.
Oh, you are all
the life I shall ever seek to live.
Oh, the beginning and ending of the world
in you I see.
And you shall ever live
in this heart of mine
far longer than the stars shall ever shine.

Your fingers like petals that fall upon my skin,
the aroma fluctuates on the membrane of
that which alternates between the
                            vessels
of what tells me to
                              gravitate
between the consequences of conciseness
and consideration. I'm whispered upon
to accept both realities..

But innuendos are the motions
                          that make me linger
on the words you weave within my heart.

Can you ******* smiles when I look at you
when your not observing.

They are a confectionary that is only visualized
when I steal an embrace when least expecting
my lips to collect candy from your thoughts.

Ruby lips spell cast,

There's no place

                               like her heart.

Life is a boat that catches the wind

                                                     at different times,

Never let it blow you to far off course...

betterdays
i remember
that day, that moment
that changed
my everything

it was ordinary
in every aspect

bar one

your
incandescent
smile

beaming
like a lighthouse
showing me

the way home
to my safe harbour

I remember, that
with a gratitude
that guides my life

and causes me to smile

in a secret
and
self satisfied way...

Polar
We start from nothing
And spring from dreams
Reaching through dimensions
And time.
I stand like a rock
Rooted to the earth beneath my feet
Know this place
Own this space
Whilst possessing nothing at all
Still I fly
Pondering reality
Dreaming with clarity
Knowing only
Love survives all.

Ciel De Verre
a small bird,
atop the masses of
skeletal branches,
carved its kiss
on the tree's
calloused skin
and left
to shiver
within the broken
shades
of night.
if not today, then tomorrow.
we all lose someone .

Blanketed in darkness,
Mesmerized by natures nightlights
Finding solace in the shadows of the moon.
     Embracing her beauty,
     Comforted by her tranquility
     Envious of her courage

I feel the tug of the connection,
     P u l l i n g... P u l l i n g...
Silently grasping
Constantly at war
with the rise of the sun.
with the conflicting thoughts of flight

Lost in the moon's beauty,
Thoughts and feels engulf me
          Seeking answers
          Seeing peace
Whispers of worries quietly spoken
Solitude reveals truths

Do you look up at the same sky
                  and see the same moon?
She shines brightly to remind you,
      where the light can be,
Guidance, serenity, silent comfort.
Promoting freedom and peace
          Reborn each night.

Lover of the moon,
     Mysterious and bright,
            Holder of secrets and wishes
                   Under its light,
                            we love,
                            we dance,
                            we forget,
                            we remember,
                            we meet.
