Feeling lost sitting at home
I've been on autopilot so long
I'm making tracks in my carpet
Nothing but a figurative circle

I keep telling myself
It will be okay
It's only temporary
You are not alone

And I know
This is just how life is sometimes
But that doesn't take the pain away

Sometimes you don't even need a reason to hurt
Your brain just starts to send the wrong signals
I am writing right now and it doesn't matter if it *****
I am speaking to no one and to everyone
Just to not feel so alone

I'm not afraid to cry
But I'm tired of feeling like crying
It's a melancholy thing I suppose
And even if it doesn't feel good
I'm still appreciative of the ability to feel

This isn't a matter of actually being alone
I just feel like a stranger in my own skin
People are trying to help me
And I'm not denying it

It's only temporary, right?
I'm obviously in a state of depression right now.  I used to write a lot and it was very therapeutic for me so this is a forced attempt to start again.

Sometimes I feel like a canary in a coal mine and it's a concern,
Putting "fragile" on your Amazon Box will make a case for return
Holding my favorite fiddleheads while standing in the ferns
Last bullet in the chamber and it's your Russian turn
Give me my country's flag and I'll watch it burn

I call and I respond and I'm going to go on long and slow
The best part of living daily is you have some control.
Taking up peoples advice can drive you solo,
They each have to sing their song and they'll start before you know
No permission, the band's rolling me over, not going with the flow.

A fraction of the time a fraction of the now,
Give your head a shake before it begins to pound.
The whole world is crashing he sang  "It's coming down"
Sometimes second guessing myself can be a raging hound,
If I lose my senses I'll will miss hearing all that sound.

I'm pretty cool when it comes to no dice,
Not once did I say your best won't suffice.
It's like ordering-in Pizza, do you want your slice,
No business working hard, no food for the rats and mice
If you want to crucify someone, make sure it's not the Christ.
Never
   Give
      Up
        On
          Love

Never
   Go
      In
        Search
             For
                 Love

Never
   Make
      Love
         An
             Occupation

Never
   Let
      Love
          Confine
              You

Know
   You
      And
          Make
              You
                  Happy

Make
    Your
        Happiness
              Your
                   Responsibility

I count the minutes
I count the minutes until we can be together
You are missed my friend
  My first love
I knew it from the moment I first picked up a pen
You never judge me
You seem to always love me
You make sense out of  my every silly thought
In fact at times you turn the weirdest ideas
Into an inspired work of art
For these reasons and oh so many more
I will love always love you
I will come visit you soon
When  I get to take a  break because things are so hectic right now
Hopefully soon for my sanity's sake
You except me even with all my mistakes
   Lets plan for June
I will meet you again soon
I will bring a notebook and pen
   My love and friend
Your name is like a sweet melody we all sing to your tune

Looking out my bedroom window
past the bluebirds and cardinals
vying for position on the seed-filled feeder,
past the doves and the squirrels
shamelessly settling for the leftovers below,
past the obligatory but unused lawn furniture,
past the turtles and storks and herons, and
past an alligator swimming slowly, but purposefully,
toward his place in the sun,
I can see the second green and the third tee
of the golf course where I live.

In these days of pandemic and social distancing
the golfers each drive their own cart.
On the putting green players stand six to ten feet apart,
no one touches the flagstick,
there are no high fives,
no shaking hands.

The green carts are driven
down the cart path
one-by-one
from two green
to three tee,
like four green baby ducks
following each other,
identical, synchronous, six to ten feet apart.

After teeing off
the players in the carts
again follow each other
one-by-one to the end of the path
before scattering
to the fairway or the bunker or the woods
or the edge of the lake
where the alligator has fallen asleep
in the sun with his mouth open
as if he is warning the golfers
to maintain the appropriate social distance.
Considerably more than six to ten feet apart.
Hi All!
To understand the tongue of love,
You ought to taste it.

He's very caring about his family,
And not only that, dear readers,
To every poet, he is so fatherly.

He's your most regular reader,
His words are so encouraging,
He is The Caring Corvus here.

He's the guiding light for new poets,
His profile is not available right now,
The Raven on the tree of Hello Poetry.

A full moon passing through the night sky
Isn't what it seems, it's not the way it goes
It's the rotation of the Earth that causes the illusion
Known by most but thought of by few
thought on the simulation
