I wondered for the first time today
about the man that will capture your heart,
like I never could.

You'll meet him at some Friday night party
in a dim living room among wafts of pale gray smoke
and stale vapors from a shared hookah.

Some morning later, when lights stab your eyes,
and every sound tosses your stomach, you'll scramble
for scattered clothes, twisted and turned,
inside-out: your heart, confused and excited.

You'll say it was all unexpected, unplanned—a flight unmanned.
I'll hug you like a friend, and I'll mean it when I say
something vague about being happy for you.

At some white-clothed table, sheltered away
from twisting hips and unkempt ties,
I'll slide my fingers down condensation
of an abandoned, unfinished drink.
I'll look at you, and we'll recount the nights,
circa summer 2008, on my bedroom floor
and hanging from monkey bars,
dreaming of cool ocean nights and Hollywood lights.
And I'll pray he will love you like that.

I saw the words on a page
And read their joy
Their hope
Their heart

I saw the words on a page
And it ripped my world apart

I saw the words on a page
Penned before my heart was yours

I saw the words on a page
Of how your love for her endures

I saw the words on a page
Kept with all your special things

I saw the words on a page
Read dreams of wedding rings

I saw the words on a page
Of a dream you never spoke

I saw the words on a page
They made my own begin to choke

I saw the words on a page
Of a time when love was true

I saw the words on a page
And read what she means to you

I saw the words on a page
You claim love never dies

I saw the words on a page
Now I see it in your eyes

I saw the words on a page
You know my hearts allure

I saw the words on a page
I know that she holds yours

I saw the words on a page
I see what you can't deny

I saw the words on a page
Your love for me belied

I saw the words on a page
And read their joy
Their hope
Their heart

I saw the words on a page
And it ripped my world apart

I saw the words

With all the exhuberance of a child on Christmas
The smallest gift was received
Ten words on a page
Joy beyond measure deluged a happy heart
Pieces of a soul....more precious than gold

And in return
With all the exhuberance of a child on Christmas
The smallest gift was given
More excited at the giving
At the anticipation of joy

Waived off upon receipt
Forgotten on a page
Unread pieces of love
Bore holes in a happy heart
Chagrin unassuaged by reluctant glances spurred by pain

Longing for all the exhuberance of a child on Christmas

I know you were smiling down from Heaven
as  we had your Memorial Service Yesterday,
I know you were watching as we gathered in your name
Each of us sharing our favorite memories we had of you.
There wasn't a dry eye to be found
as we each mourned the loss of you in our own way.

GONE FROM OUR LIVES TO SOON

I will remember you in the rising sun and its going down,
I will remeber you with each snowflake that gently
swirls to the ground,
And I will remember you, your soft spoken voice
The most beautiful sound.

GONE FROM OUR LIVES TOO SOON

No one can ever steal the beauty of you,
the love you brought to our lives,
Your Spirit Soars today with the Angels
but the memories will always survive,
My blood and yours forever intwined.

(inspired by Robert Pinsky)

 Morning sun on his face
steady motor murmur
vibrating the hose

Bluebells clamber
over the hill’s top -
nothing to remember

only the same engine noise
that keeps making the same sounds
under his head poised

and pulsing the same beat
no-one to say his name,
no need, no-one to praise him

only the engine’s voice - over
and over, running under him.

Please forgive me, dearest, for misunderstanding you this evening. I simply did not want you to have to spend money on ,me. Forgive me for not being quick to respond to your suggestion of picing up something to eat. I am crying inside even as I write this. Can you PLEASE forgive me? For only an misunderstanding? My heart is breaking tonight with sorrow. dear God, please forgive me for misunderstanding him. Can you forgive me, God? Or are you angry at me? Please, please forgive!

What is home without our daughter?
What then of all those folk we meet?
When her dimpled smile no longer
Brightens the coming of our feet?
Days drag onward, long nights grow drear
     As time so coldly marches on;
And how we miss her golden cheer!
When now those carefree days are gone.

Things we prize are quick to vanish,
Fond hearts we love to pass away;—
And how soon, e'en in life's sorrow
Yearn we for noisy hours to stay.
Eyes grow sad, fades life's brief glow,
For golden days longtime have passed,
And it breaks mother's heart to know—
Gay childhood's day is o'er at last.

Many folk bemoan their trifles,
     Trivial things to pass away,
But a daughter lost to childhood
Breaks the heart from day to day.
Laid away tired broken toys;
     Her babyish prattle, antics past;
Upon these times we miss her noise.
She has turned a woman at last.

Breezes stir the linen curtains
Vases of lilacs, azaleas, daffodils, buttercups,
Daisies, and many other flowers
Sit upon your nightstand
The butterflies dance in your room
And brighten your days
With warm honeyed rays
Of sunlight falling down
Liking the curtain of dusk
Falling down after its rehearsal
Of day is over
Tiny Fairies sprinkle pixie dust
All around your room
In hopes of you feeling well again
Pedal harps never sounded prettier
Than when they cheered you up
And filled your days
With a moment--a spark of joy
Horses gallop as if to encourage you
To feel better again
They're glad to have heard
That you feel better again
All you need is to take a little time
Glitter never sparkled
So bright and bold
As it did for you
Unicorns never flew so high
In the mystical world
Than it did that day
And I never felt so good
As I did when I heard
That all you need is
A
Little
Time
And you'll
Feel
Better
Again

Wind chimes softly sway in the warm breezes
Flowers grow in the fields with tall grass
Trees and roses bud
Water ripples and flows
Sunshine silently hits the ground
Clouds of fluffy white move across the sky
Birds sing in the tall green trees above
Springtime is here again for all
Little birdies build their nests
Daffodils and tulips waltz
Singing a song of Springtime
Watch the lilies bloom
Crocuses unfurl their petals
Crickets and katydids call
To one another on Spring Nights
Silently the Moon glides across the sky
All Night the beautiful Fairies sing
Waterfalls roar
Singing a glad anthem
Little creeks bubble and flow
'Tis a song of Spring
Sung by all

Looks like
Evil is powerful
Because it's
Ruling Mankind

Good was waiting
For our response
But we are captured
By Illusions
And going for
Earthly pleasures

Which are not
Permanent

You took two stars,
that burned so bright
and crushed them in your hands,
and though you won't miss just two,
to me you left a huge hole
that I can't even begin
to understand.

If this has been some kind of test
then I know I have failed,
How far down can you send me
when I'm already in Hell?

And God I'm asking point blank,
What is this divine plan you have devised?
that you can take so much from me
in so little amount of time.

This lone sparrow has fallen
and I've hit the hard ground,
Where was your hand then Lord?
your love and mercy,
I have not found.

How can I be thankful
for the little things you give,
When you take the big things from me?
You have left me blind and broken,
You took my beautiful stars,
left me unable to see.

I gave my all to you, my everything
Now, there's nothing left at all
You Lost one of your sparrows
When You Let Me Fall!
Losing my mom and then my neice today is to much!

The tears still fall, even though it been a fear years since last we met.
I know that I was never meant, to meet you in person but I did.
Still you made a huge impact upon me, which should have never happen.
Still my thoughts race to old memories of us spending time together.
I still hope that I shall see you in Heaven, because it will not be here.
At least then we can talk about happier times that we have in heaven.
Because the last time I seen you, was very heart-breaking for me.
But I know that God will turn this into something beautiful here.
