i tagged a ride
up along side
the tail end of a lavender moonbeam

with nary a care
as it darts here and there
effortlessly moving on its nightly stream

i fashioned a kite
made from solar fire
stitched together with starlight dreams

in the design
of cloud #9
on the tail end of a lavender moonbeam

Dawn of Lighten
Dimly lit moonlight
Shines upon your precious face
You are beautiful
By Matt Homan

Co-worker wanted to express a haiku, and I enjoyed it, so I posted it.
He was inspired by the music titled "Dark Night of the Soul"   By Phillip Wesley

The gardener gifted me a rose,
when I was gently passing his way
a bright smile lighted his face
"The best that bloomed
in this garden to day, is yours" were his words.

His sweet manner is a ploy, I presumed,
I plucked one I liked, on the sly,
once I was away from his eyes,
"The best is this, now in my hands,
No way you can deceive me, I've craft"

My love chose the first among the two,
no doubt, that's the best, in her heart she knew,
why did I doubt the gardener in the first place?
not just his eyes, his heart too was perfect.

Sunrays are slanting through the trees
While the sweet tiny bluebells sway
In sweet summertime's blowing breeze
Sunrays are slanting through the trees
While the sweet tiny bluebells sway
In the warmth of the tender day
Sunrays are slanting through the trees
While the sweet tiny bluebells sway

On a busy downtown corner
As the traffic passes by
Stands a man with a cardboard sign
Can't seem to look me in the eye

But he's going to live, forever, somewhere
So help me God
I've got to show him
How much you care

At a big bank on wall street
With its fancy marble floors
Walks in a man in a business suit
As his chauffeur holds the door

But he's going to live, forever, somewhere
So help me God
I've got to show him
How much you care

Every face that I pass by
I see you on the cross
Bearing all our guilt and sin
Not one of us should be lost

I'm going to take this message
Of love that I've found
And somehow share it with this world
So help me God

In a courtroom with its wooden chairs
Sits a little boy and girl
Their mom and dad are fighting
Their little eyes so scared

But their going to live, forever, somewhere
So help me God
I've got to show them
How much you care

On the third floor up in ICU
With a bandage on his head
He may not make it till tomorrow
Was the last thing the doctor said

But he's going to live, forever, somewhere
So help me God
I've Got to show him
How much you care

Every face that I pass by
I  see you on the cross
Baring all my guilt and sin
Not one of us should be lost

I'm going to take this message
Of love that I've found
And somehow share it with this world
So help me God
I would love to take full credit for this poem but my contribution is small and I added only one of the 4 stanzas. Two great lifelong friends of mine named Bob Browning and Ed Dixon we're the main writers.  Eddie passed of brain cancer four years ago and Bobby and I miss him very much. The reference to the ICU is a reference about Eddie. This poem is listed in his honor.

Sometimes the things that they do
Come from deep within their souls
Others may not understand
The passions that they hold

They will give their time to others
If they know there is a need
Volunteer to help someone
Get them back up on their feet

They do not ask for money
Want no payment in advance
Expect nothing to be given
When they lend a helping hand

The moment that we understand
They do this free of charge
Is when our lives begin to change
And it fills our inner heart

Sometimes the things that they do
Comes from deep within their souls
Others may not understand
The passions that they hold

Weasel
Usually when you
Think of nights, folks
You think of a full moon
Being in the sky
But there's nothing
But total darkness

{ Weasel }
True!
There's no full moon tonight here where I live.

I once lived by a river
That flowed with a seducing call
Drawing me daily to it's bed
And Liberating me in it's waves.

I miss my raging river
That use to splash all over me
Bringing joy and excitement
To my otherwise lonely days.**

"Everybody says tomorrow is scary
I say tomorrow only brings
A fresh page on a book
A new chapter perhaps
A new beginning
Another exciting adventure
Another step further
In your life."

Come to a garden of roses with me,
Serene it is fuller with roses to see,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

We shall not try to pluck any roses,
For the thorns dissuade any poses,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

We can't sit guarding the flowers,
Very busy in our mini lives we're,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

I'll set-up a flaming ring of fire,
Seeking fine protection for them,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

Let's care for the roses as if our,
As if our little & young children,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

To help us get them blue & red,
Give them all suitable nutrition,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

Their presence is eye-pleasing,
We let them be in our garden,
They are here,
For you & me,
But just to see.

Weasel
Folks, I noticed a dyin' sunset today
It made me weep
Just like the raindrops
That hit my cheeks

This is true.
Thank you for reading.

Marly
i feel like people forget that humans can die naturally.
i mean we're all so used to cancer taking our loved one's lives but
some people just sleep and don't wake up again and
i somehow manage to find that type of death beautiful.
is this horrible?  i can't tell
