For all the lady poets
whose songs are sung
who dance on fire
when the night comes
who are willing to
go to the heart of the matter,
whose desires erupt
behind the smile
who hold secrets
and shadows,
who can turn you
into slick wet stone
with one word,
one look
one touch
one tap on the shoulder.

Who hold you between
their finger tips
roll you into a
tightening knot of
desire and fear and apprehension
and
bring home your reality
far too clear.

For all the lady poets
who know you too well
who know that shell
who can crack you
in a moment
and never look back
or
love you into life
or
leave you child like
stammering and wondering.

For all the lady poets
who love you too well
who are with you
for the moment,
know your
heaven and hell
and
open their words on these pages
a sweet treat
a sweet longing
a sweet surrender
the lady poets
can spin you
twist you
and
put you back on top.

The lady poets
hold the keys
have the words,
vast universes inside,
hold on
it's an exquisite ride
better buckle up
hunker down
hold on tight
without the lady poets
I'd never make it through the night.
The Moon shines its brightest
When
The Sun is absent.
Claim your own light. Be who you are and shine.

Sad or Happy
Fine or ******
Loved or hated
Lazy or dedicated
Still or dynamic
Warm or poikilothermic
Fresh or stifled air
Nature doesn't care
Stars are going to glow
Your spirits high or low
Rivers will still flow
With winters come snow
And for summer we know
The winds will always blow
Birds will fly and tire
Nothing outshine's desire
But even that everlasting flame
Dies and leaves ash of blame
A new day will come, sun will rise
With expectations we open our eyes
Set new plans, hands on the guns
Aluta continua, be it monks or nuns
The roads of yesterday forgotten
And new ones at present trodden
Some will walk some will drive
Others stuck while some arrive
It's everyday's common tune
Be it January or june
A poet will rhyme,singers'll sing
Provoke a bee, It's gonna sting
Some live to die, some die to live
can't stay forever,some point we'll leave
Such is strife but strife is life
Unless It's the afterlife
The dusk will come to fight the dawn
Returning to daily *** or daily ****
You play the chess, you move a pawn
Some hearts are mended,others torn
You was a kid, but soon you've grown
With a brother now, soon he's gone
It's the way the clock of nature works
With no insulator to avoid her shocks

Where sleeps the crescent moon
and drifts bright stars away
to bring a song of light
glowing from a thicket there
where tawny birds take flight
or dappled in the wooded trees
foggy breathes the morning light
with rousing sounds of faeries there
drowsy in their dreaming cares
they bid farewell unto the night
and to stars that sail swift into
the evanescent light.

Now springs another day from this woodland place
soft with mossy grays or starry lichen lace
green the leafy ferns will wake
with scented rains wet upon the bark
incense cedars drift and swirl
sweet, the air of smoke
until alas the sun so brilliant comes
from behind a clouded cloak
and disappears once more
the dawn that softly spoke.

Face turned up
Towards her light
In an idolatrous way.
Hot streaks of colour
Behind eyes closed
In silent appreciation.
Silky rays caressing
Naked skin
Like a long lost lover.
The scent of coconut oil
Tickles the nostrils.
Sunbathing
Is today's religion of choice

In a lemon zest field
of goldenrod and lavender,
where butterflies frolic
in calm breezes
on a warm springtime afternoon
and shade trees cool the day
with outstretched arms of nature,

an aphonic cloud approaches,
menacing in proportions,
clinging to a frightened sky
Swirling leaves and mingled debris
like shrapnel of days long gone

Beneath life ceases to exist
as frayed discolored blooms
litter the now vacant wasteland
and roots exposed on a parched
desolate earth burn
in umber tinted weepings,
coughing of dust bowl deliveries,
while cataclysmic calamities
bring forth the wrath
of the end

And as the cloud finally passes,
dissipating in a mist of forgotten fears
making its way to a darker universe
now waiting on
the other side of hope,

sunlight returns from pale blue skies
slowly breathing, exhaling the past,
inhaling the future…
a lone butterfly appears
fluttering amidst tiny green sprouts
peeking through a new born soil
*and so it begins…again

-

Shades of maple, shades of elm,
along a winding wishing stream
Of lily pad and cattail smiles
a’ glistening in rippled gleam

So soft the grass upon the hill,
where bluebirds sing their melodies
Harmonically with skies of blue
in perfect midday symphonies

It’s here amidst the air so free
I take this lazy afternoon
To think about the one I love
where precious wildflowers bloom

For this you see it what I dream,
someday the two of us shall share
Watching clouds move cross the sky,
spending time with little care

Seeing butterflies at play
as branches flow in whispered dance
Shadows tickling the ground
alone within a sweet romance

Until that time does come to pass,
desired dreams have all come true
Among this beauty I will rest,
*lost within my thoughts of you
Good night beautiful

A breathless hush lingers in
whispered moments sent a’ flutter
upon warm horizons glowing
and a sapphire sky’s mist

Afloat on northerly breezes,
delicate dandelion ripples
caress you softly
*in the haven of my love
Good morning Beautiful

o denizen of yonder pond
you are so brave
of me so fond

your wings are crystal
beauty's grace
you're here
then gone without a trace

your body shimmers
oil's hues
mauve and purple
green and blue

tho I love you as you are
I'd rather view you
from afar

tho your love you'd like to share

please don't fly
into my hair!

I actually did have that
happen once!

Scared the sh*t out of me!!!

In the garden a bird, a flower
gold the edge, gold the dawn that hovers
a song of summer, a tiny sparrow perched
long upon the woody yarrow, that musky fills the air
a redolent warmly breeze brushes by the maple trees
caressing sweet the singing leaves and breathes the air of heaven
in the gold of a halcyon summer
beyond the hills of sage, grey plumes
a stark blue sky cloudless looms
and sings with birds in lilting waves high above the field
they break the silence in a world transformed
a song - void of man's ordinary words.

I can smell the heat of the day
The off gassing of materials
The decomposition of grass
I smell the earth drying in the bake
         of this southern sky.
After many weeks of thunderstorms it felt like summer had been postponed.  Summer is here and we are in the 90's.
