the blonde poet
At the end of the night
When I am drifting to sleep
It is always you in my dreams

At the end of the day
When I'm down and tired
It is you who gives me life

At the end of it all
When I look back on my life
It'll be memories of you flashing by

You’re leaving bruses on my skin
Cracks on my heart
Tears on my cheeks
And then you’re leaving me

illuminating the skies
along with the flowers that have died
going up north,
further up forth

an ocean of stars
making up our galaxy
our universe will not die
because of these stars
an ocean in the sky
will be yours and mine

I was jealous of the Moon:
Hanging there,
No thoughts,
No worries...
Poet's most beloved boon.
Feature of so many stories...

Then She smiled and said to me:
Hang in there!
Let go of worries...
Perfect just the way you are,
Carve your own path to glory!
started all the way back in August 2018 with the first four lines.
finished today, in the morning - to my own surprise...

My Dear Poet
a girl kissed a boy
and told him not to tell
he grew up to be a poet
with a promise kept so well
till he wrote one day a poem
that she’s found reading, but forgot
and wondered if it’s really him
and thinking that it’s not
but buried within these pages
and hidden within the rhyme
were words dripping from his lips
caressing every line
so she came in a little closer
and read it to the end
and found him in the poem
and kissed his lips again
Now it’s your turn not to tell

She was a thrifted sweater and denim and jersey knit sheets
Pizza breath and red wine and toothpaste
Alabaster skin and knotted hair and freckled shoulders
A tangible dream and my favorite good morning
She agreed to let me kiss her and I agreed to let her slip my shirt over my head before she became
Blood and tears
"I trusted you" and "I’m sorry"
Midnight poems and a drunk "I need you"
I’m afraid I loved you like the way I wrote

they say,
time will heal;
but the clock broke,
the day my heart
stopped ticking
for you
heartache.
