I was composing,
but was
lost in the middle. . .

But my heart is a masterpiece,
pumping countless words
in a single thought.

I have here a secret. . .
Only this time, I dared to burn
the best poem above the earth.
Ssshh. .

To truly say is a founded art,
you touched the life and not the soul.
For in every craft I chose to write,
keeps my purest thoughts in great disguise. . .

Oh, how it pains a poet's heart
to build a cave and dig the ground.

Save my soul from all the lies,
to all the lines you think is right

"Id love to walk, but you chose to run
And now? I nevermind."
I dreamed of writing this, but never changed a single line.

darling iridescence
this house is cool and dark,
occupants in the meleé of sleep:
outwards, peaceful;
inwards, facing demons and dark fantasies.

Morning light ushers through glass and open panels, gently probes,
but to no avail....they lay rest in quiet.
I greet her at the window with a tired smile.

we know each other well.

awake, I am.
dreaming, I am not.
but who's to say it isn't an illusion
since no one else can tell me so?

stuck at crossroads. urge to feel and  taste outside air.
Morning and I will leave the quiet residents to sleep in,
and I will run my restless bones
until I know the world once more.
No sleep.
I might have been King
were it not for that thing,
the noose,
nice and stretched, loose around my neck,
hangs well with Saint Christopher
and an old wedding ring.

I might have been King with the baubles and bling and a throne to sit on, I would have looked good on that but that wasn't to be, paupers like me queue up down the churchyard and the dead underground think that their lives are so hard, it's not good to be judgemental though when you've only got a bowl of lentils to see you through the day, woe to the man who scuppered the plan who thought up the plan to disinherit this man and woe to him too, I get this every time I kiss the midnight goodbye,
'up yours', says the King with his crown full of bling, my position's secure of that I am sure, well he can ******* too.

the punch line of this poem
is sweeter than the
smell of old jeans, grimy
under the cuff. it was a disingenuous summer
on our backs. earth worms
belly up in the sun.
writhing. pleading. drowning.
sand rubbing the wrong way on the calloused
cracked heels of summer.
neck slummed against
steering wheels.
burnt cheeks from leather.
tough.
I can’t remember, though.
fed on my memory more than on my body.
the clouds less appetizing than
cotton mouth: violently quiet

Hues of violet
As the azure meets the reddened sun
Sparse deflated clouds
Floated quiet as into each other, the colours run

Lavender streaks
Trail far into the horizon
Tracking the sunset
As the hour struck seven

Purple gladioluses
Bowed to the evening sea breeze
As if mourning the departure
Of the day's warmth with silent pleas

The orb finally sank
Beyond my sight could reach
Disappeared from here
But rising over someone else's beach

Last dregs of light
Slowly swallowed, giving birth to indigo
This night would last long
Before the first rays of tomorrow...

Another rainy Saturday...
I watch as it
drips from the eaves,
a rhythmic melody humming
in glistening harmonies
puddling on the lawn,
reflecting my constant thoughts
of your brilliant sunshine smile,
beautiful shade tree eyes
and your forever
blue sky love

You sneak up behind me
and putting your arms
around me say,
"Looks like another rainy Saturday"
I turn and kiss you, then reply,
"I hadn't noticed"
You make every day beautiful to me.

Save me

I am the chandelier falling deeper and deeper
I am the rubble born out of the friction between love and lust
I am the lovechild of gold and dust
I am falling

My sides crack
Enlarged wrinkles
Clandestine fracks

Spare me from the crooked stares of the pixies in the dark
Innocent and untainted
Guiltless and untrapped

I am the disjointed words wrecking havoc between your lips
I am the dark circles underneath your cheeks
I am the flaws that you see in the mirror
At 3 in the morning
Free from disguise but
Wrapped up in sin

I am the poet who brews trouble
Just to fill my canvas with stormy weather
I am the lover who knows not who sleeps beside me
Because that does not matter
Long as this bed for two is occupied
By an else that I can thread
Two strings need not be attached
Long as warmth finds itself on my shoulder
Care not to whom warmth belongs

I am the ship without a name
Sailing freely and untamed
I will tame the sallow seas
Else I would have lived in vain
I am passion with a ransom and a devil on my back

I am
I am

Save me

The fog shall not lift...sapphire, ruby,
emerald studded chimeras roam the
primordial soup.
The hysterical triad of a bleating goat,
lion's roar, dragon's inflamed screech.
The implacable lot of sublime vision...
reels the shadow of a halo.
The shadow of what's opaque...an
ominous drumbeat of the collective
unconscious.
Pagan hybrid...chimera--sulphurous
manacle of delirium, pomp and glory
of madness.
Releasing opiates within the plush
chambers of your Gaian skull.
Lunar stone's throw to quashing tides...
bone-fetching chimeras 'neath their
moonlit charge at flesh.
Chimeras, no mere inhabitants of an
exotic petting zoo...pattering the early
puddles which became The Face of the
Deep.

Among all the poetry books,
I look for the ones with the cracked binding
And intricate covers
Filled with harrowing sadness and raw emotion
The kind that obliterates the souls purity.

(haiku x 4)

Sun hides...dips lower
Moon and stars deck the dark sky
Dusk is upon us

Lights.....softly glowing
Drawn curtains are a pale screen
Casting drooping forms...

Voices fill the air
Night, patiently hears the moans
Shame fades at dusk...for,

Dark unites shadows
Cicadas join the whimpers
Wind...comforts the soul...

I have awoke to misty morns,
clouded days of rain filled skies

But always I do see the sun,
*when first I gaze into your eyes
