i will always be there to clean up the spills on the carpet
from our drunk friends on new year’s eve
and i will always ask before i throw glass bottles in the garbage
i won’t say that your outfit doesn’t match
but i’ll tell you if the tags are sticking out
and if your hair refuses to lie flat
i will always yell at you for going outside
without a coat, and i will always ask you
to slow down when you’re on your third beer
i will always worry about your rickety old car
that you never clean, and i will always worry
when you tell me your stomach kept you up at night.
there is nothing you can do that would make me
stop pulling up the blankets under your chin,
stop telling you not to drive so fast,
stop cheering you on at every opportunity.
i will always be there, ready to fit the stubborn sheet
around the mattress.
i will always be there,
picking up the bottlecaps.

Before I met you
I thought that
poetry was just
a collection of words,
that music was just
a collection of sounds,
that art was just
a collection of
shapes, colours and stokes
that life was just
a series of
years, breaths and steps
Indeed, I see things differently now
Through you, I am reborn
I want to be the richest person in the world,
Not in terms of money
But in love.
For money can nurture lust,
But love kindles benevolence.
Money can sow seeds of hatred,
But love reaps peace.
Money can build walls,
But love unites distinct.
Money brings solitude,
But love gives company.
Being rich would buy me fake respect,
But elite heart would keep me alive within heart of every individual.
Money can buy anything in this world but it can't give you eternal joy and peace.
Dear dad,
I'm 18 years old,
and you've been out of my life for 17 years and 42 weeks of it.
You missed out on your little girl learning, and growing, and turning into a woman.
Someone else taught me how to ride a bike,
but I don't think that you mind missing something so important.
I don't think you mind missing recitals, and concerts and shows.
I don't think you'd even recognize me if you saw me on the street.
You don't deserve the title dad,
so for as long as I can remember, I've called you ***** donor.
Because that's all you ever given me (except for daddy issues and hereditary mental illness).
You don't deserve the title dad because you never taught me how I was supposed to be treated;
so I settled for too little, and longed to be loved.
But now, I don't even call you ***** donor,
I neglect to recognize your existance in my life,
because let's face it, you were never even a possibility.
I feel bad after all these years,
because you missed out on the joy of having a daughter,
and being a father.

I love books.
I love them so much I want to eat them.
I love it when the spirit of the book possesses you in a way you can feel
you are converging into another world—a world where the heart of
   the book belongs;
And how it makes you feel the characters' feelings, as if you are in their
   situation.
I love how your imagination unite in the story.
I love the way books talk to you.
I love the way the spirit of the book connects with your soul.
I love the way books take you away from reality.
I love the way stories remains, stays, and sticks with you for days,
   or months,
   or years,
   or decades,
   or even a lifetime.
I love the way its words and messages touches you deeply in a way you
can give any meaning onto it.
I love to think how books can change the world.
Any book.
Any writer.
Any reader.
As long as you are passionately open and understanding.
Now,
Anyone,
Would you like to join me for tea?
Let us talk.
Let us talk about the books you've read,
And I'll join you babbling about how wonderful it is...
