Just in the pubs and clubs
******* our own gear around
Seemingly, always upstairs
For weddings and birthday parties
Sorting out miles of wires
Well-worked practise

But when those amps were turned on
With an audible amplified thud
As switches are flicked
And their lights gaze like tiny red eyes
That's when I am ready

First number and the drums and bass
Connect to create new heartbeats
And now I'm into it
Not the man in the mill anymore
I'm the frontman for the band
And the music soars through me

As the night goes on and grows
The crowd has grown and is dancing
Gaining energy from the music
And feeding it back to us in turn
Now THIS is being alive

And so it was

I never fell off a good bass riff but I fell off stage once or twice :)

Burning butterflies at the end of time
Watching wings turn to ash
And dreams embrace death
The flicker of the flame
Whispering a dead lovers name
Stars hold their breath
As they wish they could become fish
Lost at sea in tranquil blue
Quench their fire for a moments rest
A chance to sleep and a chance to dream
Of butterflies with burning wings
To take their place in midnight skies
So they could sleep until the end of time

It feels like I can never win,

each step drawing my breath thin,

spending my time sharing pointless memes

pretending I don't see horrors that haunt me in my dreams,

I try so hard

I play my rarest card

but my fists still beat in defeat-

It feels like I can never win.

I've been asked
did you find love?
and I say yes, I did
with the pink glow of a sunset
the smell of salt in the oceans
and the way the cold, blue water
breathes like a weeping accordion
strangely sad which strikes at the core
I found love
in the art of storytelling
in stringing words together
I can climb to a treetop
and yell on the top of my lungs
I am an architect!
I construct words to compose
the most beautiful stories
I analyze and measure,
feel the weight of it
on the tip of my tongue
I fell head over heels
for the visual arts,
for the literacy of colors,
for the symphony of form and shape
for paint to transcend
human imagination
I fell in love,
I am still in love
with chocolate and blueberries,
with pillows and books,
with laughter and road trips,
with peculiar imagination,
with many, sublime things
but mostly I fall in love
with moments and memories
I can share
with others

Come catch me in your paper plane
Baby I am waiting for you in rain
Say my name for wind to carry it
Watch the rainbow and the day lit
Let the sky see us together
Lost profoundly in each other
Pull me in and hold me near
Squash all my lucid fears
