Laundry detergent
and love, broken hearted
Dark nights and witches
and dearly departed

Death in the front yard
with bright flowers blooming
Winter and summer,
all seasons are looming

Fireflies, evergreens,
balloons colored yellow
A beautiful woman,
an old grouchy fellow

The sun and the moon
and the stars that are shining
Laughter and teardrops,
occasional whining

Sunrises, sunsets,
the beach and the ocean
A walk in the park
or a magical potion

A bird on a fence
or a babe in a cradle
The dish and the spoon
ran away with a ladle?

*** that is sensual,
pain that is hurting
Humor and drama,
some things I am blurting

Long ones and shorts ones
and some in between
A king in a castle
defending his queen

Rhyming and free verse,
it’s endless and mounting
Ten words or haiku
and syllable counting

Written out stanzas
of how we are feeling
Even an orange
that someone is peeling

Riding a horse
or just crossing a river
Feathers and leaves
and all things that do quiver

So many thoughts
I have found that are waiting
Here on this site
there is no hesitating

To all the poets
with pens always bleeding
Thank you so much
for the poems I’m reading

For all of you
that I get to call friend
Here is a poem for you
I have penned
Inspired by The Victorian Cinderella's poem "Her exact words ~" and all of the poets and poetry I read on this site. Thx so much for the fun.

Cigarette by cigarette
her life slips away.
Day by day, night by night
she's one step closer to goodbye.

Cure her disease,
she only needs affection.
Help her deal with sadness
cause it's causing her an infection.

You could bring her eyes life,
just make her feel loved.
Take her to a joyful ride,
little details count, she does not ask for more.

She'll give everything to you,
and your soft lips will calm her sorrow.
But remember her smile, what a view!
because she may no longer be here tomorrow.

She stood on the bridge
In silence and fear
For the demons of darkness
Had driven her here

They cut her heart
Right out of her chest
Making her believe
That the demons knew best

They were always there
Sometimes just out of sight
Waiting in the background
Till the time was right

These demons were destructive
Knocking down the life she knew
Hating everything about her
She hated herself too

These demons can't be seen
But they're far from fairy tales
They live inside your mind
Their evilness prevails

So on the bridge she stood
About to end the fight
Then she stopped and thought
I'll fight them one more night

Lonely London boy,
A stranger to the City,
A fluffy-haired gull
Lost in a sea of suitcases
And Kodak-clad people.
Big dreams tucked
Into the waistcoat
That hugged his frame
A little too much,
Occasionally glancing
Into café windows to
See how disheveled
He had become
During rush hour
On the Bakerloo Line.

It was a beautiful old house
Adorned with flowers and the odd flying bee
Leaves fell as I drove up the driveway
It was as picturesque as my eyes could see
Grass rolled down the banks
A gust of wind made the trees sway
The gardener gave me a curious smile
And his teeth showed neglecting decay
If he knew my full occupation
I bet he wouldn't be so polite
As I was a Scotland Yard detective
Investigating a ****** that happened in the night
The lady of the house opened the door
And her look was a sorrowful one
'Would you like some tea?', she asked
But I said just no as I wanted to crack on
I asked a series of questions
Then spoke with all the staff
They were still shocked about the ******
About the deadman found in the bath
After a tense and lengthy investigation
It seemed that it was jealous revenge
The culprit was a young servant
After discovering an affair he had to avenge
I won't forget the manor
And the beautiful falling leaves
Just a pity it wasn't a nice visit
That left misery as a family grieves

Stranger Blue
Twenty years ago, i saw you yesterday.
The memories of you linger and
refuse to go away.
From the moment our eyes met
Until the minute our lips would part.
I knew that you'd be the life and death
of me and my heart.
I did not realize my existence in purgatory
would last so long.
I thought I could move on...I guess i was wrong.
So I'll just stay here until I am put
in the ground... Into that void of silence
where I'll cry without sound.
