There's a fine line between loneliness and poetry
Loneliness makes you write a poem
A poem makes you lonely

The soul he needs,
It should be wise.
It should be sweet.
It should care.
Their feelings should be strong, but not too overwhelming.
It must like the closeness of his body.
The soul he needs,
Must be strong.
It must be tender.
The soul he needs,
Should be a soul like his.

Comparisons hurt
Especially when

Held beyond oblivion,
shackles cut the flow,
chains of rusted memories
wrapped tightly
around my windmill brain
Squeezing life, in or out,
pooling on a jagged earth
Grimacing contorted gestures
and pointed fingers heckle
as I am dragged through the streets
of my misshapen thoughts
Over cobblestone alleys,
dark lonely walls splattered in
pig blood graffiti
spelling my name wrong
Dripping slowly, staining brick
and off color facades
changing by the day,
exposing expressions
of those shunned
in the face of popularity
Innocence.
Laughter.
Adventure.
Kindness.
Achievement.
Disappointment.
Victory.
Defeat.
Honor.
Strength.
Weakness.
Loneliness.
Connection.
Choice.
Paradox.
Change.
Beauty.
Pain.
Compassion.
Anger.
Courage.
Fear.
Drama.
Joy.
Surrender.
Peace.

All of this is life.
Will you embrace it,
or hide until you meet your most real moment?

Frustrated Poet
a poem
doesn't always
need to rhyme.
as long as its real
its a poet's work of art.
what i feel is real.

I was always
an impatient kind of girl
casting impulsive glances
in supermarket lines
drawing you in
with my city-light eyes

you were always
a rebellious kind of boy
a grey eyed reader
of hearts and minds
sharp edged and bold
or so I'm told

crow black hair
an onyx wing
pulling me in
making it ring

colliding in corridors
stuck in a lift
on our gazelle legs
forever adrift
