In this world, I find myself alone,
surrounded by a chaos of troubles,
including my own
and you expect me to stand strong
as everything crumbles,
because you want me to help you atone?

I am a dancing light through the darkness
for many, it seems, through their stress.
My heart grows weary,
yet I remain humble,
as you plead for me to protect.

Through all of your worries and woes,
I stand with you, and I oppose;
But when all is resolved,
I'm left to struggle
as life deals me blow after blow.

Why is life so ominously wicked
to those who are giving and committed? Through it all,
my priorities are juggled
and from my time you greatly benefit.

But these questions keep manifesting
in my mind:
Why do I care so much,
and why am I so kind?
Why must I carry everyone's burdens
when they do not feel inclined?

First breaths taken, gentle cries,
under watchful parents’ eyes.
The first sweet taste of mother's milk
she cradles skin as soft as silk.
Tiny fingers reach and curl,
as a new life greets this changing world.

Unsteady steps lead to tumbles down,
tear-stained cheeks and a fading frown;
Bruised knees bleeding on the ground,
their brave face crumpling at the sound.
Kiss the hurt and dry those tears,
hug away the pain and fears.

Playground skirmishes leave a trace,
young hearts grapple with their place,
as games and friendships shape their days,
exploring life in myriad ways.
Reading tales and counting stars,
as time slips swiftly through youthful hours.

Changes come in the undertow,
As pre-teen tempests start to blow.
Mirrors now become their cage,
with self-doubt writing every page.
Finding paths through storms within,
as adolescent shifts begin.

Teenage years bring deeper thought
and independence fiercely sought.
Screaming words they don’t quite mean,
piercing hearts of parent and teen.
Growing pains lead to hearts that yearn,
and life's harsh lessons left to learn.

To guide them through each perilous phase,
and love them through their changing days.
Watch them sleep like years before,
until their world stops outside your door.
Time slips too quickly through growing hands,
leaving a void that no one understands.

I'm reflecting on my own personal experience as a mother watching my children grow.
The time passes so quickly and before you know it, they are leaving home.
Time really is so precious.

He is so many words
that cannot be spoken
or even be truly written
as a beautiful rhyme.
My bursting heart chords
they sing,
to love they have awoken.

He is always on my mind
to him I am devoted,
I recall beautiful memories,
I embrace my comforting thoughts
because I know he is mine.
I smile,
as words of love become woven.

He radiates a love so strong
that our bond cannot be broken,
my happy heart leaps
leading my undying rhythm;
My never-ending song
I dance,
to poetry in motion.

In the quiet of a cluttered room,
a glimmer flickered, an idea in bloom.
I held it close, a thought so bright,
now lost in clouds,
drifting out of sight.

A glance, a turn, a fleeting chase,
I search the corners, I scan the space.
It danced on the tip of my eager mind,
now a whisper, elusive,
and unconfined.

Was it a word, a thing, a dream
or a thread of a half-formed theme?
Time ticks on, relentless and still,
as I shuffle through remnants,
against my will.

Where did it go, this moment, this spark?
Did it slip through the cracks
and into the dark?

I pause, I breathe, I let out a sigh,
in the chaos of life, as my thoughts fly
out the window or through the door,
leaving me stumped
and pondering once more.

It started with Hello,
and a fleeting connection
as smiles were exchanged,
along with quiet affection.

It is always the little things
a laugh, a touch, a glance,
as a shared thrill ignites
this sweet, subtle dance.

There is no grand confession,
just a gentle sigh,
a swoon of devotion
as our hearts comply.

In sunshine's glow,
we wear a smile,
yet deep inside,
we feel the trial.
The weight of hope
can feel so grand,
but woes can linger,
close at hand.
With every cheer,
loiters niggling doubt,
can happiness withstand
what life is about?
To be the light,
yet fear the strain,
When the bright facade
can crack and fray.
Beneath the mask,
a heart may strain,
for constant joy
can feel like pain.

I notice
when people treat me differently,
the subtle shifts in their smiles,
and a coldness beneath their words.

I notice
when they weave their lies,
assuming I’m too gullible to see
the threads of truth unravelling.

I notice
when I’m left out of the plan,
a ghost in conversations,
I become an option, not a choice.

I notice
the awkwardness in their glances,
the way kindness wears a mask,
hiding intentions behind pleasantries.

I notice
when I’m a pawn in their game,
used for someone else’s gain,
my worth measured by their needs.

I notice
so don’t mistake my silence for naivety.
I’m sharper than you think.
I’m not blind; I notice everything.

The amount of people I have walked away from, this poem is for you.
People, your self worth is more important than their gain.
Do not let yourself become manipulated or used because you are kind or have something that they want.
