The first half light crescent sneaked out
catching a glimpse of you glinting
exuberant on the pitch dark
edge of the other side of the pool
wrapped in pure kohl.
Time and again matching the vision
it waxes into the full moon.

Awake all night in the serene shadow
down the blinded silhouetted earth.
I can see out off its calm lock
a firefly flies out and maybe afar
but that view might not miss no star.
But does even the moon see the tuberose
blooms in dark earth deep down the kohl?

In a place where entropy collects
my memories of youth
are barely left.

In a deep shiver
I shutter to search
my issues of trust
and limited worth.

There in my program
in bold letters it says
“YOU CAN NOT ESCAPE”
the damages left…
But!
The curtain is closed
on the stages of yesteryears
as we rewrite our scrips
take the wheel and stir!

Grace
what does it mean to be happy? at what point is your happiness fulfilled?
it is unpredictable and undefinable to distinguish everything that could possibly trigger joy.
and i think a lot of people are happy for the barest seconds of their lives,
which is why when you do feel happy and fulfilled, forget the future and remember the feeling
because it lasts only as long as it can.

In the poet's eyes, a flower smiles.
In the eyes of a miserable person, that flower is crying.
The world revolves around your emotions.

SUDHANSHU KUMAR
It's a cold winter night,
Everything seems to be foggy white.
In this frosting moonlight,
The dark horizon's fading out of sight.

Like a caterpillar in its cocoon,
We're chilling at our hot room.
To some, this night is a boon
But for some it's a night of doom.

Looking through my window-pane,
I'm enjoying the dew-drops as the drops of rain.
Some men are sitting down the lane,
I can see them shivering with cold and pain.

Shivering under that cold and open sky,
They're yearning for some fiery eye'.
Their lips are getting pale and dry,
This cold night is torturing them to die.

They're slowly dying in this freezing night, yet pretending to be okay...
Facing this terrible situation, don't know, how to get away?
Neither questioning the situation nor knowing, how long like this they've to stay?
They're just hoping for a sunny tomorrow where they can enjoy the warmth of the day...
Fiery eye' here refers to help.
Truth of every winter night where we enjoy the nature while the homeless ones suffer...

Obviously another flow of rhymes 😅

Have you ever realised,
That no matter what
How hard you try
You can’t get rid of
PAIN!

It’s like you can’t escape it
You can push it back
But eventually
It’ll come back, right?

That’s how you’re to me.
You’re my pain that
Won’t go away
No matter how hard I try,
You’ll always be there
In my mind….!

Mister
I'm not sure how you don't
Appreciate
The wonderful wacky
Being that is me
I suppose I could try harder
But it's not my fault that
You can't see

Sally A Bayan
(This was inspired by Pradip's comments on
an old  poem  of mine,  "Anticipation."
          It's been a year since...and i still
go back to that poem, to read
                his words.....to recall the
                    countless waitings i
                        went through in
                              my life.)

Pradip Chattopadhyay › Anticipation
Anticipation is such a perfect word Sally for the hopeful wait.
Let's hope we come out of it more resilient more humane.

THE HOPEFUL WAIT

We wait for something to
take place...desperately,
we count the days, the hours,
for a wish to materialize,

a small voice whispers
encourages us to hang on,
to not think of the waiting
as a difficulty,
like, a cross to bear,
because.....it is not...

the waiting time, the passing
hours, are journeys where
epiphanies unfold, and clarify
our dimmed perspectives.

while we wait, while battling
adversity and weariness,
we must make sure to fortify
our faith, our determination,
our patience, and not go the
opposite way...

some may not agree...but, there is
wisdom in what could be, where
none is certain...we see its beauty
when recalling the waiting.....life
teaches us to welcome, to embrace
the uncertainty....to trust the wait.
