I wake in the night
to discover you're gone,
But the truth is you live
in my dreams before dawn,

I was at the beach
And that was all
My skin needed today

My first words
My first sip of coffee
My first real kiss
My first real smoke
My first divorce
My first poem

Moments are fleeting
Nothing ever stays the same
The scenery will soon change
There is always knowledge for you to gain
Hang in there
And get that degree
Feed your brain endlessly
Fulfill your world respectfully

One thousand years of trees will be standing
And my love for you
It will always go timber
In December,
your limbs kept me warm after dark
I remember,
A light shined so bright
We sparked.
My bearded man,
We flew, at best,
and into history went the rest
Unless, Even if,
One million years of trees stood standing limber
My love for you,

tasting a hidden soul in fruity and luscious lips
setting the world on fire with a hug huge & wild
-with a kiss i am chained yet i’m glorious & free

i kiss your mouth of orange & drink heaven in it:
no more the day gives light, no more the moment beats
The universe is dust, the world a rose of peace
& every light is born from the bright of my tears

i give away all care, regard, worry & dream
i cast thinking away & sing & whirl & cry
& like a wounded bird i fall mad at your feet
& beg you another moment as begs a begging child:

stay close, close to me–like branch & air with wing
stay close, close to me–like mouth with breath & kiss

Always look inside you
That is where you will find strength
Rise above those pitfalls
Just put yourself to the test
Life will challenge you endlessly  
Utilize your wit deeply
Step forward wisely
And give it your all completely
