they tell me
i am so good
with words
that they melt
right onto the page
from my mouth

yet why is it

every time i
open my mouth
i never know the
right thing to say
or the right things to feel

i am trying to guess
what everyone
wants to hear
to give them
what they want

yet i never seem
to be successful enough
at that

only with a pen and paper
am i enough
because i am just me
not what everyone
wants me to be

I’ll never kiss you
Clear sad fact
You make me smile
My heart sometimes hurts
A pain I’ll bear with

I think of you lots
One day you’ll reject me
I’m taking my time
Treasuring each moment
Dreaming of forever

Three words you’d be fine
We weren’t ever together
A casual odd stranger
I don’t want you to go
I’d rather keep dreaming

Living in a fantasy
I’d rather escape my reality
Don’t ruin this quiet moment
Just simple idle chatter
Still do you like me to?
I don’t like anyone currently but here’s a lil poem I wrote about the times

I promise to bug you every single day.
I promise to make you laugh and smile.
I promise that I will always support you even when I do not agree.
I promise.

I promise to always be there for you
When times are rough.
I promise to always hold your hand.
I promise that I will always
Remain loyal, honest, and trustworthy.
I promise.

I promise that I will laugh at all your jokes.
I promise that you can always feel comfortable telling me anything.
I promise to always love you.
I promise.

I promise that one day I will marry you.
I promise that one day you can call my parents yours.
I promise to be with you for the rest of my life.
I promise.

I want gold to drip from my tongue.
As if to drench my words with importance.
I want it to leak out and sit atop my head like a crown.
When I speak to you with kindness,
When I speak to you with love,
to show that I am no longer bowing down.
Because I am dipped in gold and a queen of sunshine.
And I will no longer let memories of you steal the warmness inside me-
My hands may still be cold
But I have a fire heart that you can no longer put out.

- for all the boys who try to make you fall to your knees remind them you are a force to be reckoned with.
