Poetry is for those who write it,
not for those who read it.
28 December 2017 - How I feel about poetry.

Short edit: I've invoked a bit of controversy over this poem, and that is a good thing in the grand scheme of things. I just wanted to clarify an important point, however. This poem is not intended convey that poetry is not at all for the reader. I only mean to express that the writer is in the unique position of having written the poem, but there are many readers. I tend to write poetry for myself, but I'm happy if readers share in my poetry.

You’re pretending not to know me
You’re saying you did that out of pity

I’ve got every single reason to hate you
But why can’t I?
I’ve tried a hundred thousand times to hate you
But at the end of the day, I’ll keep coming back to you

Why would you do such l
And then something inside me whispers
An almost-unheard voice
A voice from somewhere inside
“Because his ego is freaking high,” it whispers
i’m getting sick of this heart

Only if she knew how much I cared
If she knew how much I wanted her to be happy
If she knew how much I love her
If she knew how much my actual body aches for her
If she knew that despite everything I'll still be by her side
If she knew that she means much more than a lover to me
If she knew that every waking hour I wonder how she is
If she knew that even though I don't write I'm still here writing
If she knew that even if I hate it I will still support you with the stuff you love
If she knew how much I wanted to stop being a complete **** to her
If she knew that every minute of everyday is another new day to me
If she knew that I've done more with her in 2 months then I have in my whole life
If she knew that when the time comes I won't end it
If she knew she's not alone with her struggles she has me to lay them on
If she knew I genuinely wanted to hear her problems
If she knew how much I wanted to be with her and see her every hour of every day
If she knew she means the universe to me
If she knew she was my first everything
If she knew she makes me happier than I've ever been
If only she knew.

Him                                                            Her
flashes a smile                                           blushes and smiles back
turns away not caring                              gazes at him
leaves                                                          leaves
forgets about her                                       can't get him off her mind
goes about life normally                          everything reminds her of him
never remembers her                               never forgets him

Fallen with a thud
And left for dead
It was easier that way
From what they said
With no supplies
Not a compass or map
Nor water or food
Not a single scrap
Only with will
And remaining dignity
It was time
To think differently
Shuddering with cold
By wet clothes
With passing time
One would have froze
Lifting to feet
Breath took deeply
Raising courage
From a place meekly
One step up
Was simply needed
To move forward
A purpose seeded

Everywhere I go
My rear is there for me
To give comfort when I sit
Should I decide to bend the knee

I take my wife's advice
And keep my cheeks pinched tight
So everywhere I go
My brains don't spill out on the floor

Awesome Annie
Dark alleys
are for catious lovers.
Cigarette butts littered
the asphalt
when his lips met mine.

He stole my breath
as easily
as he creeps
into thought.
So powerfully
that
constalations collapse.

Shadows danced
encircling us
teasing of our secret.
Cigarette smoke rising
clinging to me
along with his scent
and affection.

He must have
been carved by God's
and cursed by Ruin.
Fallen to this earth
as a cast away.
His eyes
say so much..

In his arms
I felt
everything
all at once.
The ground shifting
under my feet.
This alley
forever imprinted
with this moment.
