In the depths of anxious injure, mind caught,
Heart veiled in tasks of feelings obscure dance,
In soul's core, hues of mood remain fraught,
Beauty shifts with each moon's fleeting glance.
WILLIAMSJI MAVELI
In the valley of the Apricotted Sunrise
The black mountains with their jagged cliffs
Rise up each day to block it - and fail totally.
No mountain can hold back the dawn.

Seeping across the Eastern sky
Like an oncoming ocean tide
What was black and cobalt blue
Finally gives up the fight
And turns the color of a peach.
A delicious Arizona morning.

Bullhead City, Arizona is just a short hop over the bridge on the Colorado. They get to share the same wonderful sunrises I do, but not from my vantage point on our little hillside.
I asked my dead friend:
'Have you been to Heaven?'
Of course! - he exclaimed!
Many times. And you? 'Never...'

'How was it?' Nothing special
 - he was quick to admit.
Overpriced, tourists trap.
I prefer it here, where I live.

I asked: 'Are you serious?!'
He replied: Yes, my friend.

Then we went for a coffee.
It was a beautiful day.
There was a time
we lit up a room.
Toast of the town,
roses' full bloom.
Now we watch it
from a dark tomb.
I loved the absence of tobacco smoke
Until I realized it meant he was gone.

I loved the fresh breeze coming in through my window,
Until I realized it meant he was not behind the window smoking away.

It seems as if I loved the world when he was gone, but there was nothing more I wanted than being submerged in his love, tobacco smell and all.
I fell for the boy
Making sandwiches in the kitchen
Fell for his eyes
A deep green
Like a pine tree
I fell deep for the boy in the kitchen
And boy I love him
And the way he looks at me.

A midnight sky

Lost in your eyes
