Alex
when the sun loves the moon
the chase never stops
forever apart
the golden light
and the silver shine
never side by side
forever making colors dance in the sky
the warmth burns
and the cool chills
the world pulled between
forever in symphony
the never-ending love
will never fade or dull
but will never touch
forever longing for the inbetweens
where they are closer than they seem

I walk listening to music
Inside my own tranquility,
Searching these lonely
Yet full streets,
Like a ghost town
For the sociable,
Attention is directed
Toward phone screens,
So we talk about the unspeakable
Silence at an awkward occasion.

We try filling the gaps that we lost,
The cracks that had been opened,
We seclude our souls in this
Marvellous giving world,
We reach for arms but
Can never seem to grab them,
We beg for help but can't seem
To give our own emptiness.

For all could be filling our gaps
Like we need to be fixed,
The falling trees and lives
Match those of sticks and stone,
Sticks resemble our innocence
Whilst stone indicate our hard
Relentless ways to hurt one another.

But I continue to stay in my own
Tranquil world of loneliness,
Because I've grown accustomed
To the curtains I can draw
So easily shut,
I've grown accustomed
To accepting that we will never
Be caring souls anymore.
Modern society.

Hope White
I didn't even ask
To be your sun
Or your moon.

All I wanted
was to be
Your Sunday afternoons.

How many empty calendars spaces
I wasted,
Waiting for you.

Dawn Treader
Socrates consumed Hemlock,
Cleopatra embraced the Asp,
Alan Turing ate an apple laced with cyanide,
I, like those before me,
Have picked my poison;
An absinthe-eyed, quicksilver-tongued boy.
He was unsettled when I answered with the truth of his query,
Yes, he is poison,
I knowingly and willingly consume every drop of him,
Not all toxicity is solely adverse,
Radiation treats cancer,
Venom in low doses is an antidote,
Ethanol relaxes muscle and numbs the emotions.
He is my poison and my antidote,
He is the corrosive acid that dissolves gear-stopping rust,
I, in kind, am the poison apple of his eye,
Or so he says,
And so, we two, bask in the destruction of ourselves,
Consuming each other's pain, insecurity, madness, and lust,
Why is it that he, a poison, is the one I trust?
Two toxic individuals clinging to each other. Perhaps there's nothing better he can find.
