I watched some old videos and went through all our pictures
You were bright and happy and kissed me a lot
You had hope and you danced with me too
I forgot how much fun we used to have
And the kind of people we used to be
I don't regret a single thing except what happened
To you and me

Imagine your ice cold fingers
Like melting candle wax,
Seeping onto a window pane,
Waiting for the ever looming ******.

Imagine a bed of flower thorns,
Digging into your skin.
Convince yourself it's normal,
Tell yourself to start again.

Wait patiently for the sound of the lark.
Wait quietly for the non-existent spark.

Tell all your friends and your ex lovers too,
Tell me what they think of you.

When morning is gone and night won't start,
Make yourself pull apart
From the demons inside your soul.
I won't follow them where they go.

If you cry before you wake,
Say one good prayer for goodness sake.
And if you die before you rise,
There's nothing left to do.

i used to fear the day someone else fills the gap between your fingers where mine used to be
how painful for me to watch someone learn about you when i know even the most basic of things like how you want your coffee done
little does she know, i've heard the same things you've said to her once or twice before
i hope she straightens out the creases on your bed only to ruffle them up again as if i was never there
tell me though, have you thrown out our pictures in your wallet to save space for your new ones with her?
i also can't help but wonder how many times she has to kiss you in order to wipe me away from your lips
and lastly, no matter how much this may pierce through my entire being...
please ignore me as i count the tears that stream down my cheek each time you tell her you love her

I would sleep better on your floor
Than I do in my own bed.

I hate sleepless nights
And rolling over to the spot you always lay
Instead of into your arms.

I would enjoy the scratch of your carpet on my body
And pillow creases against my cheeks
As long as it means I'm next to you.

I can't stand all these pillows anymore
Without you to share them with.

I have the strangest feeling
It comes from who knows where
This world was made for loving
And heartfelt tender care

I dream all day and send my wish
To share just what I think
I try to warm my battered heart
And make a human link

It can't be right to fight it out
And crush a fellow man
With weapons built incessantly
To terrify a different clan

I sit alone and contemplate
The beating of my heart
And wonder if the way to live
Is such a strange and tricky art

For times are mad when right is crushed
And wrong seems the new order
I pray that people find their feet
To cross beyond this crazy border

Perhaps I'm just too old fashioned
And lost in my beliefs
But loving, kindness tender care
I think are all we need

I saw your face in a crowded place
The rest were just shadows and a blur

Your head carried high
Your wandering eyes
Strangers lips no longer smile
But when I look closely yours were
