I will
melt a thousand suns in my mouth for you;
sink a thousand seas in my stomach for you;
freeze a thousand trembling tundras in my calves for you
eternal frostbite;
live for you.

Step 1: Get out of bed
Step 2: Look in the mirror
Step 3: Practice your smile
Step 4: Eyedrops to hide the red eyes
Step 5: Conceal the dark circles
Step 6: Breathe
The curtains are almost up
Step 7: Lock down the pain
Step 8: Ignore the weight on your chest
Step 9: Silence the screams inside of your mind
Step 10: Choke down the sobs
Step 11: Ignore the stinging in your eyes
Step 12: Swallow past the tightness in your throat
You’ve put on this show a million times
Step 13: Don’t let them see
Times up. Curtains up. Camera rolling
You know how when you’re not ok but you try so hard to pretend you’re ok that it becomes a ritual

Cecil Miller
He wipes the dried flakes of soil from his face as he comes to life.
He is called to his task in the air.
Rises, he rises.
With tireless love he takes his chair.

Angels touch his skin
Which glistens in the golden glow
Of an orb that burns eternal,
Or as long as lives a soul.

A new day begins
When Helio pulls the sun
In the employment of Saturn
For the service of all and one.

Would the world get by without him?
Would the day be ever long?
He never pauses to wonder
When he pulls his chariot along.

There never is a day
He thinks they should give praise.
Love means that he does the task
Without a question to be raised.

Rarely given Helio
Is a thanking for the light;
For bringing them the sun
Until the time of night.
I wrote this poem about the sun just now.
It really is a metaphore, an ode to those people among us who perform their tasks in service to others with selfless intent.

I write as pen becomes brush painting
visions with stardust energies.
Words twinkle unseen to naked eye
but inviting all the same.
Verses coagulate in bloodstream
as if cells are words
destined for heart.

I write within fields of sunflowers
and below gray skies.

With intention to launch
a rocket ship of thoughts

After all I am a wandering sage poet,
meant to anoint the world with verse.

Wrapping the sky
      around shoulders of grief,
prepared shuffles of aimless motion
in time,
     a hood of moons
transpire to illuminate,
          conveying the dissolution
of reason and rhyme,
as logic takes a bullet and bites the dust
resplendent in a cloak
     of transparent darkness swirling,
          a veil drops
like the final curtain,
with the august play about to commence,
     the actors, forward,
          taking a bow of silence,
to an absent audience who do not care,
the arrival at platform zero,
     of nowhere,
travelling to nothing on a vacant train,
an instant express to the heart
     of the void,
carrying hallucinations
          in a purse
                    of stars,

Promise rides a chariot of blessing,
yielding a gift
     sugar coated in
          images and
                    words.
