The answer unquestioned…
a circle begins

The question unanswered,
enlightenment wins

The answer cries lonely,
a tree with no bark

The question roots deeper
—new light from the dark

Defences dissolving
Worries subsiding
Edges softening
Skin tingling
Heart warming,
As I melt in your arms feeling
Your warm embrace
Your tender touch
Your strength, power and care
Seeping into my bones
Instilling me with love
Restoring anew.

Oh the power of suggestion
The strength of our connection
As your hug reaches out and touches me
Across the snow filled miles
Take me back to the time of peace and love
Take me back to the time of fun
Hanging out at the park with the radio on
Guitars playing and people singing along

Take me back to the time of peace and love
Take me back to the time of fun
Cruising around in cars with the radio on
Singing along to your favorite songs

Take me back to the time of peace and love
Take me back to the time of fun
Hanging in our basements with the radio on
Laughing with friends and singing along
-

an icicle broke off from
the gutter of my porch,

stabbing my hydrangea
bush right in the heart.

i could reprimand the
shattered remains of an
icy spear,

and then bandage the
wound with a layer
of snow–

yet it occurs to me to maybe
quarter an apple with a
Swiss Army knife,

this pooling of thoughts like
pale blood seeping out of a
painfully frozen morning—

turning me white like
heavy frost over
so many early roses...

One day I'll be gone.
Do not cry for me
It was always meant to be
Like this.
I, a traveler in this life
Journey onward seeking.

I think to places I've been
Tales and visions and glory seen
Stones of great cities far and wide
Speak to stories, times of great pride.
Snow capped peaks, spine of the world
Shimmering mystery of heights untouched
Give down in endless amber plains graze the antelope freed
From bounds as trains roll through the scene
Onward to horizons hiding lands unseen.

No longer am I there
Memories turned to ash and dust
Time, the destroyer of all
Spares none come nightfall.

This feeble mind of mine
Journeys faithful through sands of time
Remembers few and far between
The kind words and kind souls
Pierced the boundaries that lie
Between here and there
If only for a moment.
I LIKE TO SAY YOUR NAME

I like to say
your name

when you're
not here

turn you
into sound

conjure you out of
thin air

so that you appear
before me

dressed in sound
only

memory sketching in
the rest of you

as if sound
was just an outline

and love
colours you in

adding the voice last
so I can hear you say.

"Hello you..!"
and there you are

as present
as present

can be.

I like to say
your name

when you're
not there.

The wistful beauty
thrives with her mask of legend
Touched by tragedy

Small haiku from my journal. 💜🌹
I feel a bit better today. I find myself reading more and more about the legendary Marilyn Monroe. Shes such a captivating figure.
The one thing I truly admire about her is her strength.
She moved and soldiered ahead even with all that happened to her.
Like the rest of us, she too had her fair share of triumphs and tragedies.
But I must say, her mask of Marilyn is so potent. Marilyn is whom we love yet its Norma Jean who's always left behind. In the shadow of a mask she created. To live up to that image of being a goddess must have been so difficult. I have an inordinate amount of respect for her.
I hope she is resting in peace.
Sweet Norma, I'll always keep a good thought for you
I've ordered another Marilyn book which should be here too, I look forward to reading it. Stay safe everyone!
Much love!
