They traveled on the circuit
A band called “Night and Day”
They were wild and eccentric
But man, you should’ve heard them play
They blew the roof off when on stage
The new sensation, latest rage
They played the night
Into the next day
Then they passed out in a field of hay
They woke from sleep and heard a tune
A string guitar and southern blues
They then knew that they had to go
To the next town to put on a show

It strikes, not with a gale,
but with a drizzle of cherry blossoms
and a flurry of gentle chords.

She loves me
He lusts for me
They need me
You long for me
But I am alone

birdy
Each pound gained
my stake in 'pretty' waned
in societies tiny frame
of what's pretty
and what is shamed.
Sometimes I convince myself my worth is based on the scale, but if I lost twenty pounds that would not make me twenty pounds 'prettier', and appearance does not define you.

pinkandwhite
deep down
there's the emotional side of me
too vulnerable
too dramatic
the side that have been hurt a million times
the child that always cries,
that's scared of everything

and to hide it, I built me

sometimes I write to set it free

Winter springs
into summer,
Quick
as the setting sun.
Summer falls
into winter
Slowly,
and then all at once.

i'd never forgotten your idyllic eyes
or that brazen gaze
i used to look both ways
to leap in front of your down days

i'd never forgotten your laugh
or that feeling of home
that knowing i'd never have to feel alone

my heart rests firmly on my sleeve
but that outfit's always been reserved for you

i'm glad i never grew out of it
