3 teas

another tea poem?
but this one comes with
3 teas
we did mention between the two of us
a t-shirt is really just a tea shirt
so do you want 3 graphic tees with tea on it?
Or just a mix of 3 teas for luck?

almost any tea brand will consist of saying with every sip
you taste the world
but take 3 sips of chamomile & you’re tasting sleep
time to go catch zzz’s
that’s 3 zzz’s

we’re only given 3 chances
3 choices
3 lives but minus cats
they have 9

Our 3 lives consist of
1. living
2. dying
3. the last time someone ever mentions your name

i’m not here 2 tease you
but i’ll serve u 3 teas,
but bring 3 friends but wait
let me guess you’re the
third wheel

join the party
too bad it’s not a tea party
just 2 teas on the table
& 1 third wheel

Let’s not get too political here
In 1773
The most British thing Britan did was make an act of tea

Meanwhile,
The Sons of Liberty reacted with a tea party of their own
The Boston Tea Party

Tea smugglers starting the chants of “no taxation without representation”
consuming about 2-3 cups of tea per day but the secret to making a huge cup of tea
is by throwing a tea party

Lets invite Darthmouth, Eleanor & ******
Bringing 240 chests of cheap black tea, 15  chests of superior cheap black tea, 10 chests superior black tea & 60 chests of green tea

Toss it all into the Boston Harbour
After all they are THROWING a 3 hour tea party
John Hancock and Samuel Adams
Got about 116+ guests arriving at 7pm and leaving by 10pm
In those those 3 hours
a total of 45 tons of tea was spilled

Legend says the harbour still tastes like tea but very salty
However, In today’s generation
There’s still more tea coming up from the Boston tea party

tea time for two

most British thing anyone could ever say is, lets go for a cup of tea but for two
there’s two cups &
Between the two of us, the tea we currently struggle with is anxiety.

Infinite conversations turning into infinity,
I am willing to empty my cup
to taste your tea.
so take a seat
because the rearrangement of seat is teas
and take a sip.

casually turning tea stains into art,
because a t-shirt is really a tea shirt.
no more spilling tea
just mixing teams like mixing drinks
with different tastes of strength,
than taking a T break after playing a game of tag,
because what comes in a team
is unity as we surround ourselves
in a different community,
we’re now a family

encouraging artistic creativity,
as we tease each-other for having different taste in music.
but did you know that rap stands for rhythm and poetry?

welcome to the witty side of me,
I only have one cup of tea
but this poem gives you 22 different
sides of tea.
maybe David can provide us more
but only between the times of 9:30am to 9pm
except on Sundays.

thank you for having tea with me,
hopefully someday you can leave a good tip,
so than maybe next time...
i’m able to have a tea party.

Perhaps,
What you need
Might be a nice
Strong drink,
Or perhaps a
Tea party for two.
A strange suggestion
To hear; I’m sure,
But the soothing
Cadences of formality
Intermingling
With simmering emotion
Would make for a heady brew.
I honestly may have gone off on a theme of Alice in Wonderland for a number of poems, tea, tea parties, madness, but ****** if they didn't come out well

A pretty, puffy, lavender dress tight-fitting to her tummy
Seated at a plastic chair chomping on treats oh-so-yummy!
Plump lips slathered in clear lip gloss and a couple cupcake crumbs
She smiles at me, says 'pull up a seat', and I'm sure this'll be fun

Dolls and teddy bears, teeny plastic cups filled with kiddie tea
Batting long lashes and adoring eyes, she directs attention on me

A cloud of cotton candy perfume hangs in the air as she gushes
I compliment her party, and she looks away and blushes

"lets not talk about me, how about Bear?"
Taps his head "he's got all the latest gossip up there"
I laugh, "How about you, little one, any stories to tell?"
She pauses for a moment, bites her lip, "well..."

She's trembling, I see, it comes out in a stream
"There's lots of stuff I'm not supposed to tell about mommy."

"But ***** said she once lost three babies, where did they go?
and once upon she didn't eat, how'd ***** know?
I've got a lot of baby fat as well, take a peek
And maybe I'd be as pretty as mommy if I didn't eat."

"Mommy never pays attention to me, cause ***** cuts her wrist
We never play anymore now, I always get dismissed...
I was once in the room, you know, I watched her bleed
And there's some blades in this carpet now, it's terrifying."

"Also, did you know daddy's never home?
He's got a new.. girlfriend now.. and a house of his own
Mommy's still his wife so thats weird I think
It's also nice, when he was here all he did was hit and scream."

"But it makes mommy cry, I don't want to see her sad
and her and ***** always fight, why're they so mad?
Mommy's so upset with me too, I'm afraid she'll run away
Hey, is it my fault if my mommy doesn't stay?"

Bitter tea sweetened with the slow drip of tears
Aloud, this little girl has voiced my worst fears
I push away my chair, prepared to walk out
Her lips begin to purse into a childish pout

"I knew it! I knew it! I should've never even told!
I won't tell anyone ever again! Get out! Just go!"

A tea party with my younger self. Children understand more than you think.
Kate Lion Sep 2014
i am a tumbleweed
i gather dustbunny thoughts and entertain them with a tea party in my living room

i am a scarecrow that doesn't want to be looked at
but the ravens all come
they stare and oggle anyway
making me blush

i am a girl with a huge heart who doesn't want to be loved
because things that are cherished and wanted hurt people more when they break

i prefer being a sock without a match
I will love you so fiercely
that the sun's love shall never again feel the same
nor hold you hypnotized in its beauty.

I will drill my way
down
to your heart
though it may be a tedious task.

I will peel you
layer by layer by layer
until all that is left of you
are your organs and your soul.

But;

Once I too am inevitably consumed
eroded
by the tide of this ordinary life.

If I have not ******
the life
out of you
in an attempt to show you how strong my love is,

And if you happen to outrun this love of mine:

Play hopscotch
on my tombstone
and pour tea parties in the graveyard
in my memory.

I promise to attend.
