my eyes burn,
from the glow of the
computer screen,
against the stale darkness
of this room.

I've been reading
Bukowski,
The Last Night
of The Earth
Poems (1992)

he has made me realize
I have a
writer's soul,
a writer's heart,
a writer's mind.

I do not see,
yet I see all.

I observe,
I write,
I think,
I *am.

I realize,
now,
far too late,
that I am not
lonely.

I have no
need
to be.

for you see,
the pages,
they speak to me,
and I speak back.

and with that,
I have all
I need.
