Nothing Further
Shalene Dec 2015
We were finally there
Finished our hard journey
All the way to the top of the mountain
Back from rock bottom
Together
We made it
But unfortunately
Our door was locked
And the key was nowhere to be found

Part Two
Shalene Dec 2014
If you want to be a part of my future,
You must first hear the story of my past.
Because if you can't handle the bittersweet part one,
I'm not writing you into the upcoming chapters.

Dirty Little Secret
Shalene Dec 2014
I'm the trophy you keep at the back of the case.
I sit there collecting dust, because I'm not good enough to show off.
But in reality, I'm secretly your favorite.

Sounds of Future Sorrow
Shalene Dec 2014
He held her close
Not because he cared
But because he liked to hear the beats
Of the heart he was about to break

In your eyes,
I was just another girl.
In my eyes,
You were the whole world.

Whole
Shalene Nov 2014
I used to be afraid of you never coming back,
Now I fear that you will.
Not because I can't stand your presence
Or because you're no longer my desire,
But because I'm fully captivated by you.
Every part of me.

You're my illness.
Weakness.
Pain.
Suffering.
Insecurities.
All the bad in me.

I was just an empty lost soul.
You consumed me.
But when you packed your bags you took that with you.
And as much as I crave your existence in my life,
I know that I couldn't handle your return.
Without you I'm everything.
Definitely not the best but I'm posting to get some feedback/advice. Let me know what you think. I take critism well, no matter how harsh.

Thievery
Shalene Nov 2014
He told her she was pretty
Made her feel wanted and loved
Then walked away with the innocence
Of that sweet little dove

Untitled
Shalene Oct 2014
Alone in a room
The absence of light
It seems so silly
but that is my fright

Locked down by memories
Scarred by my past
So many years later
The nightmares still last

I tell others of my terror
They stare with pure judgment
I brush it off slightly
But their looks remain pungent

No one understands
But what I do know is true
With a life like mine
You'd be afraid of the dark too
This is my first one to post. It's not the best but I hope it's enjoyable.
