there is a girl
with stars in her eyes.
i am drawn to her
like an astronomer
to the heavens.

there is a girl
with hair as soft
and flowing
as the breeze that caresses
silken petals.

there is a girl
whose lips
as they brush my cheek
transport me to a realm
where intimacy is allowed to exist.

there is a girl
with whom i want to spend
as much time as possible.
i want to know all there is to know.
i want to be close to her.

there is a girl.
the very thought of her
entices me to be reckless
to disregard my fears
and be guided by affection.

there is a girl
whom i dare say
i love.

keith daniels
a ruined bed, two lovers lay,
outside, the first slow breath of day,

a song is sung - a bird, up high,
born years ago, somehow survived

the rip and tear of tooth and claw,
hatched from a nest that did not fall,

a slender limb that did not break
on sleeping earth that did not quake

grown old and tall and straight and wide,
a withered seed that never died,

blown from afar on autumn breeze,
stirred from the ground with careless ease,

a little boy raking the ground
looked to the sky, and heard the sound
of birds
Everything is connected.

your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about
you;

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
