yuki
crowd of tiny black birds
one of them prettier than the rest
feathers shimmering golden
but when his brothers and sisters fly
it remains below
because you can't fly with wings made of gold
I wandered these lands,
And took to the seas,
With the rage of war at my back,
The promise of blood ahead.

I saw wonders,
And the remains of fallen lives,
For millennia,
I searched - futile.

I stumbled aimlessly,
Into conflict I couldn't understand,
And with one shot,
I was killed at evil's hand.
Sorry, I stayed up too long,
and in my heart I felt a song,
about your beauty, and your grace,
they way you smile, and make my heart race.

But I'm sorry, I just stayed up too long,
even now, I know writing this is wrong.

People say that deep down in my soul.
There's peace but I don't know.
Hate consumes me from deep inside.
My feelings make me want to hide.
Instead I stand and scream at the world.
I rage and fight.
Against the light.
I draw my sword and grab my shield.
Alone I walk across the fields.
Geared for war I stand resolute.
Not caring for what I stand to lose.
Anger gives me strength.
Death is my embrace.
Fear is a lie.
That festers inside.
Shake it off and take my hand.
Stand with me against the land.
Brothers we are, comrades in arms.
An army of two, is all we are.
Lend me strength to rise again.
Pull me up, take my hand.
Together we can make a stand.
Against this world that we so hate.
War and death, this is our fate.

You married the woman
Who's every bone is riddled
With ever pulsing anxiety.

The woman who insists on asking
The same question a hundred times
"Do I look alright?"
"Are you sure I look alright?"

You married the woman
Who's tolerance for heavy crowds
Is completely non-existent.

The woman who's most comfortable
While lost inside the fetal position
Or hidden beneath dark blankets
While rocking in your loving arms.

But,

You married the woman
Who sews mundane words into
Intricate stanzas; bringing life to paper.

The woman who's scrapped her
Shredded soul and tormented mind
From the pavement of hell a hundred times,
Yet still she believes in God.

You married the woman
Who often has nothing for herself
For she gives her all to help the world.

The woman who will stand tall
As a beacon of hope for those who
Have been devoured by creeping anxiety
Even when she wants to disappear.

You did not marry anxiety.
You married an incredible woman.
Thank you for teaching me that.

Body blooms with pieces of sky
Those that shone from shutters
Outlining your frame in gold
These sheets tumbled across your skin
Making canyons of linens
Let me lie here forever
I'm lucky

I'm trying to get clean of you
But it's hard quitting cold turkey

Hands sh-sh-shaking
Pupils                   darting uncontrollably

Legs stomping. Zombielike. I pause
Every so often. To keep myself in check

No.
I can't take it anymore

I open my mouth,
No longer caring if I put your name between my lips

It rolls off my ******* single exhale
I savor the forbidden sweetness of each syllable

As quick as it entered my throat,
Your name's already vanished into thin air

With it goes my peace of mind,
The withdrawal setting back in

It's never fun needing someone
Way more than they need you
