Beyond the seas, on a faraway isle,
A maid is waiting, true without guile,

Her faith, stands of stones and trees,
A winsome heart as lone capercaillie,

With a look she prays into the wind,
Longing where true love only begins,

Butterflies flutter with a heart racing,
A diary is kept under ravens tracing,

The elm and oaks are alms she stirs,
Splints and potions are makes of her,

How much time is passing of redress,
To maid of the glens, all forgetfulness,

She breaks and cries, pleads to a sun,
Calling like an angel, into the heavens,

New days come with a cold shudder,
Lost days run in trains, out to another,

She braces in corners for O solidarity,
Wee birds singing with hopes in fealty.

An wonders awake, dreams each morn,
When will love ringing come into dawn?
Capercaillie,
Scottish term for a showy kind of grouse.

Echoes Of A Mind
We played a game,
But I forgot the rules.
Now I'm sitting here in pain
While thinking of you.

I never planned
To break the rules.
It's just that I have a weakness
When it comes to you.

I'm shot through the heart
And I'm the one to blame.
Now my heart is torn apart
And that's the price I pay
For forgetting the rules
Of the game, which we played...
When you forget that it's just a game...
We said our love things
Under light of the moon,

New faces sparked, shimmered, tied
In the blinks of heavens, O true eyes,
Among a grand Milky Way of stars
An so hot were the froths of cold air,

Steaming in swirls of daze
Round our faces into blaze.

We said our love things
With swim of hands locked,

Rowing out to sea like little wan skiffs,
Dreamy and drunk in the ocean shifts
And muffled hearts broke skin drums,
Fell the waves rushing into dark some,

O how lovely and dire the airs
How ocean sighed with us fair,

Yet, loss grew unmeasured,
By love things so treasured,

Our little boat was cast out, away too far,
We lost dear knowledge, the guiding stars,
Confounding joys split the night so clear,
Meek, spindrift promises, offered up wares,

Vouched keen love things
Under fates, flighty moon.

Me
Like the tarnished spine of a book unread,
My heart awaits the face.
And in years gone by,
A winding mile,
I've never seen the space.

The space that greets me,
Between my body and yours,
My body and theirs,
Anybody and somebody.

Like an unopened present,
Amidst a few,
I unwrap myself and see.

The only person I never knew,
Was me.
I had nothing to lose
Till I met you
I have everything to lose
Sometimes you meet someone, and you have the whole world

Willow

The willow hangs,
drapes the ground,
dances to a tune
unheard in the hum
of cars and lorries,
in the commotion of
people passing in a
hurry, barely noticing
anything more than the
phones tapped with
fingers & thumbs.
But I notice,
I see it all,
the dance on display,
the symbol of sanity
I need today.

Cosmic girl

When I was small
I walked on fairy dust and
my dreams were as tall
as skyscrapers towering
above the universe
inside of me, was the galaxy.
I was born of the cosmos,
full of light and love
passionate in my quest to
give this to others.
But as I grew my star began to fade,
stars need love and light to survive
and deprived of both my blazing fire
transformed into weak candlelight.
At school I had learnt it was easier
to hide your light
than to stand out as different
and be extinguished in an instant.
So I kept myself to myself
at the back of the class,
knowing the answers but not
shouting them out.
I daydreamed, and doodled
stars on the corners
of my books, all the while
I could hear the universe
calling out to me to trust,
that we are all born of this
cosmic stardust.

vows

Another day
     to wonder
if vows
pledged
       last night
will
withstand the
  coming light,
if they will
sprout
limbs & rise
with me in
this
      reality or
if they
will fade,
     grow pale,
shrink back
      into dark,
never to enter
     this world
& make their
    mark

Sub Rosa
Wind ripping through windows
sleeping silhouette shivers inside
Dark. Dark walls
streetlamp glow far below
The window screen
The wind screams
You sleep
You sleep
a draft in the sheets
Body heat
Hair tousled by pillow wind
Blowing gently
Blowing ferociously
Will the window break
The shutters snap
I lay silent
awake
Beside sleeping silhouette
You dream
You dream

I never sleep

If I played your heartstrings
like a violin
would you wail just
as sweetly?
