A Crush
S Renay Apr 2016
They go on to love
Love the skin
That is not theirs.
Love the
Slumbering Curls
Of frail
Hair.
Splattered freckles across
Shoulders and chests.
The Market is grudgingly open.
Transactions take
Place without the
Clerk behind the register.
Reaching into the depths of the freezer
Returning with the
Morning ****.
They love
Merely because
They want to eat.

Sauce
S Renay Apr 2016
Is it the hot jalapeño
that makes the sauce
undesirable?
So much so that
the lavishing onion
sweet tomato
and bold garlic
mean nothing?
Down the sink because
it is too spicy for our mellow tongues.
Sauce speaks the loudest when
it makes us uncomfortable.

Natural Time
S Renay Apr 2016
Clocks don’t actually measure time correct.
Milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours,
Wild mustangs follow time most direct.

Out of all of the animals, fish, flowers,
The beast of burden understands the best
How to measure time shards with their powers.

When the trust of other beasts is put in test
the mustangs go quick being fast to aim,
Their chipped hooves and powerful chests.

When the calm arrives, and the air is tame
The mustangs nurse the young and chew grasses
Peace has lasted until the next wave came.

Action and reaction, is how time passes.
Swells of time encroach with different patterns
On each species. Humans assigned dashes.

It's About
S Renay Apr 2016
Its about suffering
Its about sobbing
Its about repenting
Its about cherishing
Its about the moon
Its about the smell after it has rained
after not raining for centuries
Its about the first step
towards the last
Its about the child
who grew up too fast
Its because it wasn't mine
Its because there wasn't time
Its because the alarm never went off
Its because there wasn't a clock
Its not my fault
It wasn't me
It was because I was waiting
for the right key

Here on Earth
S Renay May 2017
Here on Earth I can feel the same way as someone who travelled millions of miles into the galaxy.
Alone.
Except without seeing all of the neat space.

Sleeping In A Bed
S Renay Apr 2016
Inviting the space beyond the toes tips
Cool yet comforting the blanket as it
Stretches to the bed's horizon into
The dark abyss that cloaks rooms to fulfill
Mans tranquil descendant into dreamy
sleep

Everyday
S Renay Apr 2016
Shuffled steps.
Knuckles crunched.
Lilac Purple.
Cannot Soothe.
Tight jaws.
Loose words.
Endless compression.
It doesn't
go
away
S Renay May 2017
If you love something set it free; if it comes back it was meant to be.
Thats how it goes right?
But they don't tell you how long it will take for that something
to come back.
Sometimes its long, sometimes its short.
But it will come back.
I came back to my love, after a year of wandering and discovering the rarity of us.
I came back thinking that I would be rushed back into his life with a warm embrace, and that he would tell me all of the right things in response to my foolish teary blabber to confirm that yes, we were both lost without each other.
No.
The door is shut, but the windows are open so that the world and can hear the laughter of love spilling out of the windows and into the streets.
There are two happy people inside instead of one lone one.
That you swore would be there waiting for you.
You were selfish to think that.
You shouldn't have left in the first place.
Now the pain he felt is seeping in.
You cry tears that are celebrating their first birthday.
Tears that had the same meaning as his.

Fractals
S Renay Nov 2020
Every single second I live my life to its end and then back to its beginning. This moment is found in the present. It's pleasant being in the present because that's all to know. No haunting past or badgering future. Just the world around you.

— The End —
