I am not the man you marry.
Not at all!

I've never had a good job
I've never owned a nice car
and I don’t buy dinner.

Your mother will hate the way I dress
your father won’t trust me
and your girlfriends won’t ever be impressed
that you got me because

I am not the man you marry.
Not at all!

I drink too much
I smoke too many cigarettes
and I like to get high sometimes.

You’re right to think I’m crazy
you’re wrong to think I’ll ever stop being so
and if you ever thought you could change me
than you’re two cans short of a six pack because

I am not the man you marry.
Not at all!

I’ll make you nervous
I’ll make you uncertain about your beliefs
and I won’t ever apologize for being me.

You'll cry
you'll hurt
and you’ll try
to make it work because

I am the man you love
but I am not the man you marry.

Magic**

Read this to yourself.
Read it silently.
Don’t move your lips.
Don’t make a sound?
Listen to yourself.
Listen without hearing anything.
What a wonderfully weird thing, huh?

NOW MAKE THIS PART LOUD!
SCREAM IT IN YOUR MIND!
DROWN EVERYTHING OUT.
Now, hear a whisper.
A tiny whisper.

Now, read this next line in your best crotchety old man voice:

“Hello there sonny, does this town have a post office?”

Awesome! Who was that?
Whose voice was that?
Certainly not yours.

How do you do that?
How!?

Must be magic!!
Written by the wonderful poet, Shel Silverstein.

Not every caterpillar
wants to become a moth or a butterfly.
Not every snowflake or drop of rain
wants to fall from the sky.
Not every petal of every flower
wants to tilt its face towards the sun.
Not every second of every day
wants to die the second it's begun.

I walked into class
The students all turned their heads
Do they smell my ****?
Turns out, I reek like Dank.

insomnia is its own kind of madness
for when the world lies dead quiet
and your logic cannot sleep
you start to wonder
what starlight would taste like
if you drank it from the moon

my handwriting changed
after you left.

now, it runs rightwards
as the words strive to
escape my pen.

now, any letters that
stand upright
are left so very empty.

now, the ink i use is blue
because i needed a break
from the black-and-white
i used to live.

now, i showed someone else
the things i'd written
for you.

she told me my words
could be beautiful,
even if i only write
in the margins of
old books.

my letters dance, now.
just another thing
that changed after you left.

(they are still not enough
to tell the paper what i hurt.)

(they are still not enough
for my forgotten regrets.)
(ew)
(words are hard)

Every lady is a kindred spirit
Every lady deserves a chance
Every lady has thrown a fit
Every lady has taken a stand

There is no such thing as a *****
No such thing as a ***
They do what they must to be adored
They use what they know to put on a show

Forgive them if they hurt your pride
For they are none the wiser
One of them may be your bride
And another be a fighter

It is your job to evolve
It is your job to adapt
Every girl will eventually fall
You need to be there for that

They need your support
And they need your charisma
For sometimes they may fall short
Of being a source of wisdom

So every lady may be flawed
In one way or another
You need to treat them like a mom
And be there for them
Like a brother
I found this in one of my old poetry journals and had to put it on the site xD i hope u like it
