Maybe
one day things will change
an unexpected twist in fate
will come hurtling through your gate

Maybe
it will different tomorrow
not the same as it was today
and all your troubles will be washed away

Maybe
tomorrow i'll remain the same
an awful poet, with an infamous name
but who knows?

Maybe
tomorrow you and i
shall glow.
If you can, make hell
For those who become demons
Make them feel at home

Seven bucks an hour,
Bills stacked on the counter,
Got a baby on the way, he'll have to feed.
His pride is gettin' torn down,
His confidence is worn out.
This ain't the way he dreamed that it would be.

She's got no time for makeup,
'Cause she's got three boys to wake up,
Never thought she'd have to raise them on her own.
And some days she feels like cryin',
But she's holdin' on, survivin',
On the love that makes their little house a home

She's been here before,
And she's only eight years old,
But she knows the name of every nurse she sees.
And though she don't like the chemo,
She waits it out, never losin' hope,
that someday soon she'll be cancer-free

You're a fighter,
Got that fire,
When they thought you'd fade away.

Hold a fist up,
As you get up,
Feeling stronger everyday.
This is a poem about three people I know to set a reminder that there is hope, even when situations seem as thought they won't improve.

Virtuous
Do I have time?
Or does time have me?
No matter how much I think
I can not see
I can not perceive
This concept beyond myself

The plates had been lain out, and the glasses standing well.
The tablecloth was sitting, candles dancing swell
The clock is there a-ticking, but the oven is a-tocking,
Papa's waiting at the head, Mama panicking 'bout what's blocking
Sister's playing hide and seek, with brother dear who's much too meek.
Finally, the platter comes, filled and lavished with the good 'uns
The wine is here, share it out, it's much too nice to not talk about
Slice the words and give it out, pour the poetry and share it.
i don't even know

why do you automatically assume things
it's like you're on a specific mode
that all the ideas swimming in you
must be said out loud and read

the rumours you spread typically aren't true
and as much as i try to explain to to you,
you don't get that people change
what you say too

And the judgments you make are ridiculously and annoying
saying i'm a **** for not wearing a skirt? look who's talking
and don't you dare say i'm trying to steal your friends
those minions follow your assumptions, I wouldn't
want to be friends with them if you paid me
assumptions

I am a shell and
I am empty and
my seams are torn and ripped and ragged
like a dagger has sliced a hurricane through my chest
and all the emotions I'm supposed to have have poured out
like honey
like water
like innocence
like red red blood that pools and drips and
streams from my wrists like
the hungry blade of nothingness like
how I felt that time I waltzed with death

but

because I am not a real person
no one cares
anyway.
