It's in his shadow we plead
Under his wrath we bleed
His destruction leaks hate into the weak
Leaving the unsubstantial reaping his critique
His actions scorned through years of neglect
It's in his perception only, that we become wrecked
Why do we follow knowing wrong from right
Pushing those we love away from the light
His power is without doubt equal to the greats
Although derived from stray minded it opens the gates
The gates into the souls of those who are tattered
Turning old memories to ones now shattered
Although through it all, we have nothing to fear
For he is nothing more than a broken mirror
It just takes practice to realize his weakness
All his power is nothing to the strong but bleakness
It's in his own prison he will rot
Although it's up to us to become the Juggernaut

When my staircase stumbles,
Walk back on home,
The floor between us lies a sea of faces,
My east to your west,  split at the seams,
needle and thread to childlike memories,
Take my hand, Lets head to the rooftops,
Forget about this place,
And the sea that lies between us
-
If only I could swim

I  did a gig last night
at the local bar - Moderation Inn,
they called it

and  I played the piano
late into the night -
the usual tunes, the usual crowd:
friends and lovers
people talking aloud
no one who drank in moderation;
couples dancing...when I noticed
an elephant in the corner
crying,
and I said to the elephant
even as I continued playing:
"Recognise the tune?"

"No,"  said the elephant,
shaking its head
*"I recognise the ivory"
...dark humour...

Cigarettes and
red nail polish,
and one night stands,
that's what little girls are made of.

Bright blue pills and
soft pink lips,
and whiskey soaked nights
laced in regret,
that's what little girls are made of.

The sharp boys who whisper
behind street lamps in parks
know nothing of
what little girls are made of.

Broken hearts,
crushed dreams,
bitter souls, and
black coffee,
that's what little girls are made of.

Tear tracks and
bloodstains,
bruised knuckles and
fire.

That's what little girls are made of.

You can only question,
The methods above,
When they take the soul,
Of someone you love,

When criminal's live,
To repeat each breath,
Spreading all fear,
Avoiding death,

We mourn the past,
Robbed of our time,
A happy future,
Tortured by crime,

We pray in vain,
To bring them back,
Your silent response,
The comfort you lack,

Grief eats me alive,
As anger resides,
Vengeance is real,
Life for a life,

No remorse,
For my actions taken,
A son of no cross,
Forever forsaken.
