 Jun 2015 The Noose
Ryan Hoysan
Two people could never have been more in love than the two of us. A spark at first glance, suddenly roaring as a huge fire. At every moment we'd tell the other how much we loved them and how we wish they'd never leave. Two hearts and two minds, completely intertwined. But now it feels different. The light in your eyes has gone. My smile wiped from your mind. Is this what love is? A flurry of passion then nothing? I thought love was to be shared, nurtured over time, a never ending passion. As I lay here seemingly forgotten, in endless confusion, It seems "love" is just a syllable, it's meaning lost to history and its intent ignored in the doldrum of life. It is why I now ask: Do you even remember my name?
I wonder if she still feels the way I do...

I.
My maiden voyage
on these waters, unbidden;
blood flows out to sea.

II.
Winds conquer my sails,
skin peels away in the waves,
my diaphragm floods.

III.
Marooned bag of bones
stripped by the sands of a tomb;
the ocean’s edge sleeps.
Yet another prompt on allpoetry.
I used senyu/haiku form to write this.

i will siphon you desolate
and leave a desert
inside your veins

and the oasis that was
once your heart
will become a tomb
sand-flailed
eroded
buried

the same you
did to me
For yet another prompt on allpoetry.

where the sun ceases to expose
all of the cracks of our shells

and just before the night
slowly engulfs the embers
we have left.

meet me
here…

“On apricot rose petal skies, I see the smile in your eyes”
~
It is still dark as I walk
down blurred pathways
of sleepless nights
and moonlit worries
awaiting dawn’s apricot
rose petal light
to peek over the
distant horizon
illuminating my smile
~
For then I will know
you are seeing
azure heavens glowing
on far away skies,
sipping your first cup,
waving goodbye
to yesterday’s problems
and whispering to me
“Good morning”
~
*As another beautiful day begins...
Good morning Beautiful
beauteous rushing realms of a besieged mind
    forgotten rhymes of scorched memoirs
delectation's reminisces 'pon dusky cloudbursts
     hazes of reflective delirium's inclination
scripted amidst skies of smoldering verse
sans tomorrow's twilight of synchronicity nor
reasons beyond glorifying poetry's sublimity
