Him
I stepped outside to see Him standing there
"Get in the car." He said
"I'll ride behind you in my limousine."
I drove myself down the long stretch of highway
it was finally happening, no more denying.
I stopped the car, got out, and walked back
He opened the black limousine door
knowing I wanted more.
"Come on, I'm a dead man." I said.
He handed me a cookie and I stole two more.

W. H. Auden
Time will say nothing but I told you so,
Time only knows the price we have to pay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.

If we should weep when clowns put on their show,
If we should stumble when musicians play,
Time will say nothing but I told you so.

There are no fortunes to be told, although,
Because I love you more than I can say,
If I could tell you I would let you know.

The winds must come from somewhere when they blow,
There must be reasons why the leaves decay;
Time will say nothing but I told you so.

Perhaps the roses really want to grow,
The vision seriously intends to stay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.

Suppose all the lions get up and go,
And all the brooks and soldiers run away;
Will Time say nothing but I told you so?
If I could tell you I would let you know.
Do not poke the sleeping beast
that hides behind another's mask
his words not written to inspire
but to wound and belittle.
He crows for attention,
this loathesome creature,
with boundless ego
and tongue firmly
rotting in pustuled cheek
he will not be the thief of confidence
he will not be the silencer of hope
for he is the keeper of bitter misery
the captain of a sinking ship
not one will touch his heart
as it sits within it's cavern of disdain.

Took a deep breath, I whisper
Dont let them get into you
Show them you can do better
In every little thing you do.

            Never look down, just up
Dont be scared to do what's right
           Breathe and never give up
In the end you'll see the light.

Dont listen to every words they say
You know yourself better than they do
When you're down, He'll find way
           Little girl, He loves you.
One thing, you should never forget. He's always there watching, waiting for us.

The ash heart within my chest
Lies grey and charred
Still housing the embers
Of the love that burned it alive.

I watch as pieces of my love
Flake away and shatter , on the cold grounds
Like the snow
From an all too early winter.

I forever walk
On the dark road
Traveled only by the strangers
Who share my sin
Those who share my love.

My dead heart continues to beat
In the hope that
Even though you may not love me in this world
That perhaps you will wait for me
Outside the gates of the heaven.

So that you could rebuild my heart
Piece by piece
In the great gardens of the angels
And so that I can finally share my love with you.

We could forever lay in the warmth of the sun
And forever gaze upon the afterglow of the stars.

I love you , but perhaps
I am a little too naive.
If only everyone had their happily ever afters . . .

There is a pain—so utter—
It swallows substance up—
Then covers the Abyss with Trance—
So Memory can step
Around—across—upon it—
As one within a Swoon—
Goes safely—where an open eye—
Would drop Him—Bone by Bone.
