Oh rage, oh rage, how long will we battle?
I have suffered your daily abuse
And I'm here to tell you: "this is your hour"

You know I can't hide
You know I can't fight,
Will you just let me fly?

Oh rage, oh rage how long will we battle?
I am destined to hear the sound of your rattle.
My feelings right after looking at my grades for this semester during Christmas break.

screen obsession
has taken possession
our lives are not our own
we spend all our time
looking down
at laptop or smart phone
why do we need
the data feed
at every living moment
perhaps we could learn
to ditch the phone
and just think of what the day meant?
A thought also inspired by Susan Greenfield in "Mind Change" and others.

abby
you were a beautiful hero
and i fell in love
with safety.
you were home and heart and pulse
  beating
     beating
        beating.
you were golden and shining and charm
and i wore you
around my finger
  hoping
     hoping
        hoping.

i was electricity
destructive and
elusive.
i was a villain
worse than any
toothache.
i was twisted
caught up in
my tragedy.
i was your catastrophe
and darkness and nightmare.

you are good // i am bad

always
always
always

just some dumb words in my head

Let's feast on the night

And gaze in delight

Soft sparkles admist a black haze

Breathe in moons arise

From vast cosmic skies

More calming than sweet softly days

For cloud can dim light

And drown out of sight

A sun single, solem, shining

But alas come the stars

Shimmering afar

A universe of siblings

Now sing

It may have been beautiful
but it destroyed me
and left me to burn in its wake

anonymous
and even
the tiniest parts
of my body
ache and scream
calling out
your name

We are critical.

We find flaws in
everything we see
because nobody
wants to write
about perfection,
even though sometimes
we wish we could just stay
staring into that
unblemished surface.

2. We are never satisfied.

We live our lives upon
mountains of
scrunched up
bits of refill and
ideas we gave up
trying to
express.

3. We never forget.

We write words about
eye contact made
three months ago
that we replay over
and over in our minds
even though it
stopped
being relevant.

4. We are fickle.**

Our emotions flash
from one
to the other
like strobe lighting that
disorientates us
until we feel as if
the world
will never be still.

5. We are exposed.

We don't know how
to keep our feelings
to ourselves so
we'll write them
down for
you to find
'accidentally'.

6. We are vulnerable.

We wear our
hearts on our sleeves
and won't lift a
muscle to fight back
if somebody tries
to break it
because we thrive
from the pain.

7. We will never stop.

We will never stop
feeling and
we will never stop
hurting,
we will never stop
breaking and
bleeding and
loving
even though the cycle
is endless
and we know what's
coming next.

We are addicted
to agony,
but we agonise
for the art.
It's worth it though.
