Apollyon will destroy
your mantras with the truth.
Be without fear
for all of humanity shall perish
in it's own denial

Fear not judgement
Fear not prosecution

All sheep will be herded
off the cliffs of stupidity
and burn in the fires of their intolerance
May they see the light
and be free one day.
My blood flows so dutifully
Sweat arrives on cue
Skin protects quite beautifully
Heart beats strong and true

Breath turns up when needed
It hasn't failed in years.
Muscles work unheeded
Faithful as eyes and ears

My body and I
We have so little in common
I've 'composed' this but have to give credit to Steve Turner, a British poet who originally wrote a similar poem that I last heard 35 years ago. I've been unable to find it anywhere so I put this together in an attempt to recreate it.
They see all the good
They're torn towards all the bad
             They know what's coming
   But they never look back
To all they could have had
     They want their justice
Yet, they leave it to the devil
        Dressed all in black
              With wilted roses
   Tattooed across their backs
           They've fallen,
    Deceived, tortured and abandoned
         Their holy calling
  There's a war raging between
            Their moral stance
       Their inner desires
                And their loyalty
They never leave life to chance
  These Angels in black
          With wilted roses
       Tattooed across their backs,
Daggers, swords and knives
          Have red stained faces
     And hold the fate
             Of all our lives
       They can feel the shame
Of this deadly game they play
          Yet, these Angels in black
With wilted roses
        Tattooed across their backs,
    Sacrifice everything for our souls
            Yet, a soul
   Is *all they truly lack

Wanderer
I don't know you like I used to
Dove grey haze settles
In the air, swirling slide shows between us
I catch moonlit glances of your fevered advances
Stretching the fine edge of breaking free
You shutter me
Soft light bubbles pop against the backdrop
A sudden urge to laugh rises
The heavy burden of loss carried deep
This surface isn't what it used to be
I am not the same old me
