My friends abroad think I'm peculiarly English
My English friends think I'm peculiarly northern
My northern friends just think I'm peculiar
But at least I've got friends

One Born in October
One Born in November
Four Years Apart
Born of the same gender

Both names contain four letters,
Big brother, the faithful protector.
Albeit they were different, they had
An inseparable love predestined forever.
Love you Paul!

He was a man who stopped time
stretch a second in love
as much as he wanted

This was not the case
for Saturday traffic
he left before she got there

Sitting at the corner table
she ordered a cup of coffee
-for here-
in case he returns for that napkin
that napkin inscribed in chocolate

"I waited, you never got here
this flower is yours, if it's alive
when you find it
water it"

She did and drove home
against traffic with just a note
and a flower

Oh, if only the man that stops time
could also take care of traffic!
I do hope everyone finds this one funny. I have been told many times that my sense of humor is simply off, but I keep trying ;)

As I peer across the Mountain range of my life,
I see a vast array of peaks and valleys,
Roads that wander near and far.

Some roads seemed unsurpassable,
Some roads were thought to be inconceivable,
Some roads I felt were unapproachable,
And I see them all as landmarks in my life.

The one road in the very middle of my lifescape,
The one that's known for being less traveled,
I so often avoided and I don't understand why.

Some roads seemed impossible,
Some roads were thought to be infallible,
Some roads lead to intimacy,
And I see them all, good or bad as milestones in my life.

Standing at the base of the mountain top,
I feel a presence encouraging me to climb the summit.
My breathe becomes heavy, my limbs are numb but my mind is focused.

Advancing the summit, I pull myself above the misty clouds,
Peering below I find oceans of generations that have gone before me....but were never forgotten,
And one stands at the forefront, with arms outstretched, an unforgettable smile, and love thats unending.

There's only one road that leads us to an island universe where we live on forever past fatality.
All roads have the same waypoint which leads us to forever.
Close your eyes and imagine a place that does not judge and only loves.

Miss my mother everyday. Leaving us at 45 years old was the day my world stopped. Now I look forward to our reunion. I love you Mom!
This day is the day upon which,
Wishes are tattooed upon lover's skin,
By the gentle kiss of a lover's whim,
Simple romances and complex shapes to be drawn,
'Round the eyes that one shall fawn,
O'er clouds and dreams drift the lovers' song,
To the beat of ground under lovers' dance: all night long.
This is a poem I wrote on Valentines Day five years ago.
I was passionately optimistic about love then.
Wouldn't mind being in that state of mind at least a little bit.

Enjoy!

Trying to Breathe**

I'm sure when my Mom brought me into this world,
She would have never imagined I would have done something so stupid.
That day 1964 is still clear as hell..blowing clouds of "killa" with my very first smoke.
Kissed my first girl and smoked my first cigarette all on the sameday..Milestone..NOT
Nothing but a cool fool...So Cool.....My *** was frosted over!

This COPD death sentence reeks of a smell you never get rid of.
Shallow strained breathing keeps time with syncopated heart beats.
And if your a smoker my friend I know this message is gonna get your attention.
Let the message sink in and swirl around your head like those clouds of "killa".
And remember this................

"You can't delete racism. It's like a cigarette, you can't stop smoking if you don't want to and you can't delete racism if people don't want to. But I'll continue do everything I can to help!"

I quit smoking in 1998 when I lost my father in law to Lung disease. Not an easy thing to tell someone to let go. Fast forward to 2014 and I go for my yearly physical and two weeks later I'm diagnosed with COPD. If you sow **** your sure as hell gonna reap ****. I've fallen in love with Hello Poetry and all of you who provide me with your words of wisdom. Love you guys!!!
