Wanderer
My windows point East
The first touch of soft light
Heavy darkness
Caressing me while still ******
Mist sways in ghost like swirls
Across the scythed field edging the yard
               I am thankful
Deer play, eating the harvest lost by machine
Tie dye Tuesday with assorted colors
Stains on cement
Waiting
A robin's nest squatters are ready for flight
New wings shake nervous feathers
                I am healing
As the leaves unfurl
Warm breezes skate through every crack
Soaking up the sun with sable pelt
Side by side
Both hearts radiating love
Her gentle purrs reassuring
All is well
Summer reinforcing my frame
                 *I am
The unrelented grotesque of the old town centre
Buzzing strongly from its high
Too many unpleasantries for me to count
Is what I discovered after midnight

While everyone was laughing, shouting and wandering around
I was cowering, screaming and pleading for no more sound
My butterflies were neurotic - they were eating me inside
It's a wonder why I didn't throw up one single time

And so, I ran away
Through the flags and bunting
I ran away
Past the ranting and blubbering
I ran away
I'm anxious to tears
I ran away
Get me out of here!
This poem was written after witnessing my town centre at closing time last Saturday night. You can tell from this poem that I didn't find it the least bit pretty.

Poetry is about what is said
And what is implied

Implying is known for its subtle
Body gestures or vague sentences

Syntax and diction often control
The reader's persepctive

but
how can I control what other's think

Is it colorful word choice
Or WHAT WORDS STAND OUT

Am I accurate in assuming that
With a simple
pause

and repeat of word
I can cause someone to think otherwise?

Is it crazy that I control
the beat
in time
with a
meter

My dear I seem to have you under a spell
Can I tell you something

I'm not falling for you
I am in fact

Floating
Or for a better word

Afloat with you
Enjoying the water

And maybe
Someday
at some point
In some time

I will be ****** in
Drowned in your bliss
Penetrated by your words
Enraptured by your touch

Poetry is for mad people
With nothing better to do than to scrawl out their words with a pen nearby or a ***** keyboard that sounds more atrocious than the screaming of a fish

Poetry is the only way I can say my feelings
and if it's confusing

I'm sorry
I'm also confused

Maybe your love won't be drowning
and for once

It will feel like flying
What am I to do?
The pen I held dear now strikes
Like a cobra in the brush
Words burn to be released
But something holds them down
You encouraged me so
And now I am wrecked beyond help
I will perish

Will you cry?
Once I am gone
Will tears fall from those emerald pools
Would those beautiful memories resurface
I should say I wish this upon you
But how could I ever utter such a thing
You belong in such a sacred part of my heart
I could never truly hurt you
Though my moments of weakness ruined us

Would you come back?
If I lay down my pen and weapons
Change all I can
Let loose logic
To wreck havoc
On those wretched emotions

Could you give me one last chance?
My last chance at happily ever after
To feel those strong arms around me
Soft but sturdy hands on my hips
Silky smooth lips on mine once more
To see those shining emeralds gleamer
With something other than tears

Please come back
Passion seeps from her
Loving beyond compare
Uncontrollable for her own good
More of a person than anyone else
I used to believe that my heart was guarded
But instead of being behind a lavish door
Hidden by a broken piece of wood
In a corner of a dark alley

But once I turned it over
My heart was not there
Instead it left it's pedestal
A note instead

Saying
Trying to find where I've gone
will serve you impossible.
For I will only live in you

And at that moment I realized
My heart was mine to give
So I'm sorry
But I've decided to keep it

your close friends are leaving you soon

and i don't know if i'll be here when they do

unless you clean up your act real quick

there's not much else i can do

because i'm going to love me before i love you

I simply love blue.
It's the sea we plunge into.
The constellations absently traced.
Tremors of ice around my waist.
Hushed oblivion anchored in sleep.
Fragile tears we openly weep.
Canvas skies with crystal cotton.
Oceanic tides that calm and soften.
